23.01.2022 Finishing on top of the ladder and premiers for season 2019/20 in the u15's is the South Perth Black team! Super effort by all involved, well done!

23.01.2022 Today we move on to the u14's competition. Unfortunately the u14's and older age groups got COVID-19'd and didn't get to play their finals. Ladder positions at ...the end of the home and away season determined the premier (1st), runner up (2nd) and One Day Premier (3rd). The 3rd place getter and the One Day Premier for the u14's North were South Perth Red.

22.01.2022 Moving on to the u15's and the One Day Premiers are 3rd place on the ladder South Perth Red. Congratulations on a great season.

20.01.2022 Match Report 4 - Away to Gosnells. Rain was the feature of the morning, with only 9 overs played, Gosnells bowling to The Lionesses. Lionesses finished at 4 for 45 in this time. Destiny, Gosnells Captain, lead us in the ‘Barefoot Circle’ tribute to this NAIDOC round of fixtures. Rebecca, Captain of the Lady Lions, lead both teams and coaches in a team cheer to kick play off. It was a nice moment to be involved in.... Joccoa and Rebecca were a great opening pair, with 2 Gozzy bowlers fast and accurate. Our two shortened their swing and put bat on ball to show maturity to adjust and score off good bowling. Rebecca wore one on the knee but ‘hopped’ it out. Zahra and Gemma then teamed up and worked together, running quick singles against awesome fielding and throwing from Gosnells. All 4 batswomen learned the hard way to ground and scrape the bat over the crease to combat accurate throwing. Abbi didn’t get to bat due to rain but proved to be the most eager to run in the rain and wet the teachers. Staff educated her on the folly of these actions but she appeared not to hear them. Lady Lions attitude - first class. Thank you coaches Withers, Amaratunge and Fowler. Away to Willetton at All Saints next week. Coach Gary Roberts

19.01.2022 The runners up in the u16/17 competition is Lesmurdie-Mazenod Gold. Super effort by all involved!!!

19.01.2022 Congratulations to Riverton/Rossmoyne on being the SEMJCC's inagural u15's Girls Premiers!! Thanishka Nanthavarman was on fire with the ball taking 2/3 from 2 overs and Tessa Horrocks led the run chase with 12*.

18.01.2022 This past season Chris Chellew, SEMJCC's very own Club Officer at the WACA, came up with an innovative way to keep older kids in cricket and created a Perth Sco...rchers Slam T20 competition. With games being played mid week to suit those that can't play on weekend's teams from the SEMJCC played teams from other associations and each other. The good news is that teams from the SEMJCC finished runners up and premiers!!!! Dominating cricket!!! Congratulations to the Ascot Eagles on being runners up in the inaugural competition!!!!

18.01.2022 Congratulations on a great facility

18.01.2022 Match Report 7 Home v South Perth Gold Lions defeated by a cracking team of fast bowlers: 11 for 67 to South Perth 2 for 189. Disappointingly only 5 players attended, with 2 apologies from our squad of 10. This loaded the pressure on our 5 today and they responded magnificently. South Perth were amazing, especially with their pace bowling, teaching our girls the value that thigh pads might be when batting. Laurelle would be vying for player of the day such was her tenacity wi...th the bat. She scored 6, and after getting out on the very first delivery of the innings only gave her wicket up once more over the next 23 deliveries she faced. She got smashed on the thighs and thumbs several times to the extend she exclaimed ‘fudge’ loudly after yet another thumb smasher, yet when we needed a batter to face another over due to a miscount she volunteered and marched out again. Laurelle also claimed a great wicket off her bowling after Abbi took a sharp catch as keeper, and dived to prevent runs in the field. Abbi put in a terrific game to score with 19 off swift and accurate bowling, with one straight drive for 4 a beaut. Zahra is incredibly stingy with her wicket refusing to give it up. Today’s game is the 6th in row where she has not been out and today picked up 3 runs off her own bat. Zahra’s bowling is also one of the best in the team. She is the most accurate in targeting off or outside off stump and is therefore hard to get away. Jenna and Gemma were the stingiest of the Lions bowling only giving up 6 per over against technically and physically strong batting from South Perth. These two were also a great team as they ran singles and twos together with skill. Jenna second top scored with her 12 and Gemma hit double figures with 10. Festival Match at school on Friday Lady Lions versus Lady Teachers, and away to South Perth on Saturday. Coach Gary Roberts See more

17.01.2022 A big shout it to Adrian Derham who in his second season of cricket has scored his first 50. 2 x 6’s and 7 x 4’s. Backed it up with 3 for 1 off 3.1 overs Great to see you following on from the promise you showed last season.

17.01.2022 The runners up for the u13's South division were Lesmurdie Mazenod Gold. Congratulations to the team and coach!!

16.01.2022 Match Report 5 Willetton Away: Not enough superlatives for the Lionesses today a rematch with Willetton who smashed us 3 for 237 to 20 for 61 four weeks ago with todays result being the Panthers 4 for 193 to Lionesses 6 for 81. Felt like we won. And - Willeton were quicker than last time with the ball, smashed more fours than last time with the bat, and yet we closed the gap by a massive 64 runs. Well done coaches Withers, Amaratunge and Cox and of course Brilliant work... Lady Lions. General cricket acumen is the reason we improved, more efficient fielding, running singles, more fluent bowling, more dot balls, 15 less wides, less runouts. Gemma top scored today with 15 runs and a classic square pull that scooted across the field for her first 4 of the season. Myika has averaged 4 runs per innings so far until today second top scoring with 9 today, and impressively no outs. All Lionesses guarded their wicket with courage today, taking home many bruises to the thigh. Paige faced the best of the bowling only giving up one wicket for her 3 runs. Joccoa and Jenna each scored 8, and both ran some nice singles. Zahra place a value on her wicket, not losing it once, and picked up 6 runs herself. Abbi was our most effective bowler, taking two nice wickets, the second destroying the stumps with her second last ball. She bowls quick. Zahra and Paige picked up a wicket each with Paige giving up the least runs off her bowling. Myika’s bowling has improved incredibly, making the coaches proud. More runs saved by the keepers Jenna and Zahra today evidence of the aforementioned acumen. No photos this week if there was it would be of Mr Cox doing a tik tok with the Lady Lions work to do here Mr Cox, but applaud the effort. Saturdays are fun. Away to Roleystone/Karagullen next week. 12.01.2022 Hi all Thank you all for following along over the last couple of weeks as the boys and girls got the recognition they deserve for all the hard work and fun they... had over the 2019/20 season. Cricket next summer might look a little different, however the fabric of our great sport remains the same. As an association were excited to support the thousands of boys and girls who take to the cricket fields every week. We have had enormous growth across all boys and girls teams and are committed to retaining these young cricketers and continuing to assist our fantastic South East clubs recruit the next generation of cricket stars. The core of the committee Adam Sutton (President), Simone Northcott (Girls Coordinator) and Scott Gleadhill (Treasurer) will all be renominating for these positions again. It is likely that more help will be required this season to fill other executive positions and general committee roles. You don't need to be active on your club committee to join the SEMJCC committee, any member can sign up and get involved in assisting the local cricket community, it really is rewarding and a lot of fun. If you think you might have something to offer or are just curious about the workings of the association please come along. 10.01.2022 The u13's North division premiers for season 2019/20 is Canning Vale Black. For Canning Vale Black Austin Wiseman took 3/3 with the ball and Krish Chaudhary made 27*. Great effort in a final!

08.01.2022 Match Report 6 Away to Roleystone Karagullen Lionesses picked up the W today with 9/132 defeating Roleystone 6/108. This is our 3rd win of the year we don’t care about winning of course, but if we are counting then BOOM 3W 2L and one no contest due to rain. Laurelle took a sharp catch today to take our first wicket of this nature for the season. Joccoa then said well if she can I can and took a running catch a short time later for our second ‘caught’ wicket. Well done... Lionesses. Zahra stepped up to be one of the best bowlers today she got a rhythm today which developed a little bit of pace for the first time. Her wicket was a clean bowled affair. Rebecca is our quickest bowler and this provides a challenge for our keepers. Well done Gemma and Abbi for quick feet and getting behind each delivery. Jenna improved her bowling today and took 1 for 6 off 2 overs. Brilliant Jenna. Paige has a ‘Maxxy Walker’ bowling technique and showed great control to bowl at or wide of off stump a focus of training during the week. She is a great learner, and fun. The Lionesses turned in 11 well ran twos today, indicating their growing judgement skills and energy. Rebecca hit a cracking four and if not for a super slow outfield would have hit more. Abbi swung the willow well today, rewarded with 1 four and 4 twos. Her energy and enthusiasm is infectious to her team mates. Myika seems to team up with others to run two’s and this puts her aerobics to the test she is running better each week and is a terrific team member. Her fielding is one of the best in the team. Rebecca and Abbi got 13 and 15 runs respectively and sent the fielders scurrying after their lusty swings and hits. Thanks you to teachers Cox, Turner, Bateman and Nala for your Saturday mornings, and Chaplain Denise for turning up to see what the ‘fuss’ is about with our Team Connect Lionesses. South Perth Gold at Home next week. Photo is of our Lady Lions and another Team Connect team from Kelmscott SHS repping for Roleystone. Coach Gary Roberts See more

03.01.2022 Finishing second on the ladder in u15's and the runners up for this season are the Ascot Eagles!! Well done to all.

03.01.2022 Match Report 3 Ascot Blue at Home Lady Lions 5 for 125 defeated Ascot Blue 9 for 92 Captain Gemma won the toss and sent Ascot in. Ascot are another TeamConnect outfit and are a lovely bunch of kids. Well done coach Cox for his first win.... Rebecca opened the bowling and destroyed the stumps twice in the first over to set the standard. She finished with 2 for 10 off two overs before picking up the keepers gloves. Abbie debuted today and was presented her team cap, then took 2 wickets, clean bowled, and is a bundle of enthusiasm in the team. Gemma took 2 for 8 and Paige took 2 for 11, each off 3 overs. Joccoa was efficient with 0 for 5 off 2 and Nico is a good fielder off her own bowling. Rebecca hit her first four today, followed by her second and third amassing a mighty 22 runs with no outs. Joccoa and Gemma batted with her for season bests of 8 and 11 - and the three of them turned ones into twos such is their energy and voice. Well done coaches Withers and Amaratunge as the focus at training on the run paid off (6 run outs match 1, 1 today). Myika was on her way to a season best before retiring. She ran some great singles and only got out out once. Well done Myika - massive improvement. Abbie backed her great bowling up with awesome batting, swinging at everything, picking up her first ever 4, and totalling 17. Nico got 9 for a SB, all well ran singles. Miss Chafi-Scott was rostered on today and was a welcome team supporter. Thanks Leila. Away to Gosnells next week. Looking to pick up a wicket with a catch - team target. Coach Gary Roberts

02.01.2022 Match Report 2 v Roleystone Karagullen Lady Lions 7 for 106 to RK 4 for 105 Oh Yeah, that means the Lionesses have opened their win account with a one run thrilling victory today. A committed effort from our girls with bat and ball against an evenly matched opponent. Welcome first gamers Rebecca and Joccoa. They have added value to the team. Joccoa is flashy quick in the field. We don’t know yet if she is a left handed or right, she switch hit today. Roberts says right, Withe...rs calls left. Joccoa bowled well, and Rebecca is the quickest bowler we have had in 3 seasons, bowling an awesome maiden over in her third roll. She threatened the boundary with the bat and top scored with 10 runs. Captain Paige scored 9 and hit the seasons first 4 in the last over - a captains effort to pull the team over the line for the win. Nico is a tenacious runner of runs, quick to move on the fielding error, scoring 8 herself. Jenna scored 7 with the bat and was miserly with the ball, almost getting a maiden with 1 run coming from her first over. Gemma scored 4 and saved many more in the field with a switched on attitude. Her and Rebecca are loud supporters of teammates and track the rolling ball well. Zahra again proved a thoughtful player. She is quick to back up the throw and picked up 4 valuable runs herself. A big improvement in bowling from her today. Myika too improved with the ball, listening to coaches advice and limiting the wides. Emily-Rose opened the batting with Nico and they worked well together, Emily scoring 4. Day trip to the WACA with TeamConnect and coaches Cox and Withers on Friday. Home game hosting Ascot Blue on Saturday. Coach - Gary Roberts

02.01.2022 Cricket season is here at last

01.01.2022 An outstanding performance from our Aussies! Lots of highlights but this catch by Labuschagne was a real standout! #ENGvAUS

01.01.2022 Match Report 24 October 2020 13G Lady Lions versus Willetton Willetton 3 for 237 v Lionesses 20 for 61 In our first outing with the New Team Connect Lionesses Willetton showed how it is done. A skilful outfit with friendly and supportive attitudes towards our players whilst spanking us on the field. Introducing the 2020 Lady Lions playing their first game ever pictured from back row L to R are:... Myika, Liam, Jenna, Paige, Emily-Rose, front row Gemma and Zahra. Thornlie Lions kit had not arrived for the game so we wore the scorchers colours with David King addressing the girls pre game and presenting them their match day club caps. An indication of the support the girls have from Thornlie SHS was in 6 staff attending this first game. Thanks Leila, Simon, Sahan, Oliver and Jason in joining myself to get the kids onto the field today. Emily- Rose wore a sandshoe crusher 2 balls in off an express Willetton girl (looked like she has been squad training bowling real heat). She hopped around a bit and later told coach that she thought at the time she had better lift her game or cop anothery. 2 balls later she flicked another down leg side for two runs to show how quick she was learning. Gemma ran like a whippet, quick and often in the field and with the bat. And a flat drive through covers was almost caught by her and ‘smacked’ her hand but just slipping out for a first gamer to attempt this was a massive effort as she prevented a certain 4. Zahra and Myika were quickest to pick up the notion of covering the stumps and always backed up the keeper and the thrower. They look to be thoughtful players. Jenna pulled off a great runout as the thrown ball went 2 m past the stumps, ran after it and back hand flicked the ball to hit the stumps with Willo short of the crease. Jenna also slapped just behind square leg the express lass, showing a real keenness to get into it. Paige kept the wickets brilliantly with none getting by her, and her batting was nice top scoring along with Emily-Rose with 7, and Myika scored 6. Emily-Rose has the honour of the first wicket for the team this season. Liam has a good approach to fielding, setting up the option of the relay throw to support the long return, and she has a nice arm as she returns the ball to the keeper. She was also the most economical of the girls whilst bowling. First home game next week with the 15’s girls team playing there today. I hope you went well 15’s Lionesses. Coach Gary Roberts See more
