15.01.2022 As the weather in SA rises to 40 degrees this week it is important to remain informed, download the Alert SA App and follow advice from the SA Country Fire Service. For more info, visit alert.sa.gov.au

14.01.2022 Theres been some discussion, and possibly confusion, about the level of warnings the Alert SA App will send notifications for. Alert SA sends push notifications for Bushfire Advice, Bushfire Watch and Act and Bushfire Emergency Warning Messages for fires within your Watch Zones. This is the same information issued by the Country Fire Service (CFS). On Wednesday 11 December 2019, there was a grass fire at Ashbourne in the Fleurieu Peninsula for which the first Warning message..., issued by the CFS, was a Bushfire Watch and Act message. Please note this is not uncommon and the community should be aware that Bushfire Advice messages may not always be the first Warning message sent. To stay informed about all types of fire Incidents in your area, the CFS recommend always using more than one source of information. The CFS Updates Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/CFSUpdates) provides a feed of all Incidents and Warnings, and the CFS website (https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/site/warnings_and_incidents.jsp) lists all Incidents. Fore more information about Alert SA, please visit www.alert.sa.gov.au.

05.01.2022 The CFS will be taking advantage of today's cooler conditions, conducting live testing of their alert systems. This means Alert SA users may receive test notifications for Woomera and Mount Gambier between 11:30am and 12:30pm. The community is asked to disregard these messages, however, if residents see smoke or unattended fires, please call 000 (Triple Zero).

03.01.2022 We have had some queries regarding the way the Cudlee Creek fires are displaying on the Alert SA App. Often with large fires, there are multiple calls which go through to Triple Zero (000), which result in multiple Incidents being generated. As the Country Fire Service (CFS) closes some of these individuals Incidents which are associated with these multiple calls, they will display on Alert SA as completed. However, you should continue take notice of the colour and warnin...g messages relating to the Incidents on Alert SA, and access the More Information button, which continues to provide advice on the fires status.
