24.01.2022 To hear myself and 4 of the other candidates answer questions at this morning's forum, check out this link!
21.01.2022 I had a fantastic time on Tuesday being a part of the Anglesea by-election forum with Mitchell's Front Page for 94.7 The Pulse . The questions submitted were fantastic and I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to answer them. Thank you to everyone who was a part of this event! . I'll tell you what though before I got there I was suuuuper nervous, thankfully, however, after chatting to a few people in the audience, meeting the other candidates and answering the first ...couple of questions my nerves started to wear off a little. . My intention was to communicate my three main values in running as a candidate for the Anglesea Ward: . #1 Proactive in consulting the community, clubs, groups, and businesses in council decision making. . #2 Preserve the traditional charm of Anglesea, Aireys Inlet and Fair Haven townships while encouraging innovation that is in harmony with community values. . #3 Ensure decision-making stacks-up in regards to the economic, social, and environmental wellbeing of the entire Anglesea ward community. . And I hope I was able to achieve that! . #council #surfcoastcouncil #angleseaward #anglesea #aireysinlet #aireys #fairhaven #surfcoast #forum #youthinleadership #candidate #politics #triplebottomline #social #economic #environmental #values #community #communityrepresentation See more
20.01.2022 I have loved and lived in the Surf Coast since 2001. I live in Torquay, work in hospitality, and as a disability support worker doing individual support and community access around the Surf Coast including in Anglesea. I’m a Commerce student at Deakin and as of June 2019, I stay in Geelong a couple of nights a week to save the commute. A councilor is first and foremost a community representative; who gives power to the community, makes decisions that are representative of wha...t the community wants. Because the values that drive my decision making are open-mindedness and empathy, honesty and integrity, and critical thinking, I’m confident that I can be this community representative for Anglesea and the Surf Coast. If a proposal doesn’t make sense economically, socially or environmentally, I will not support it. This ethos has led me down the path of activism like campaigning for the Surf Coast to declare climate emergency (to be voted on before this election ends). If you like what I stand for, Vote 1 Alex Marshall and then preference Harry Rosson and Andrew Arnold. If you vote me in, what would I have to have done in 12 months so that you look back and are proud of your vote? I would love to know: [email protected] 0467 611 193
