19.01.2022 Teaching your kids to code to make them automation-proof? According to this report by the Brookings Institute 40% of the tasks done by computer programmers and web developers are susceptible to automation. #automation #ai #futureofwork

18.01.2022 "Stretched for time, some households are starting to operate more like businesses". Interesting article from The Atlantic, which reminds me it's time to schedule the kids' performance reviews. What processes or tools from work would help things run more smoothly at home? Or things you do at home which would make the workplace better?

18.01.2022 In case you can't tell from the grin on my face here, I really enjoy working with Asahi Beverages last week at an internal conference. We spoke about how to combine Art and Science to create an effective workforce strategy to accelerate their vision to be the first choice in beverages. Asahi Beverages dates back to 1889, and employs more than 2,100 people across Australia and New Zealand.

18.01.2022 Anna Wintour, the editor of Vogue and the inspiration for the boss in "The Devil Wears Prada", this week launched an online course on How to Be A Boss. I really hope the Q&A section is called "Please bore someone else with your questions".

17.01.2022 This morning I had the privilege of speaking at a breakfast for the Australasian College of Health Service Managers about navigating complexity, change, and opportunity; followed by a workshop with the Victorian Healthcare Association where we explored a range of scenarios for the Victorian Healthcare Sector in 2030. Two groups of engaged and passionate health professionals who are creating a better future for all Victorians. Thank you to the ACHSM for asking me to speak and HESTA Super for sponsoring this mornings session; and to the VHA and its members for our ongoing work together. #futurist #speaker #creatingthefuture #futureofhealth

15.01.2022 I had the pleasure of speaking at the Getting Sh!t Done Club in Melbourne last week alongside four incredible speakers. A wonderful group of people attending. I spoke about how organisations thrive in times of change by focusing on potential, possibility, and precision. If you're looking for a futurist to speak at your next conference, let's have a chat about how we can work together.

15.01.2022 26 Million people have shared their DNA with the top four Ancestry Websites. Some of those websites have given access to that data to police, drug makers, and app developers. Once the data is out there, it's impossible to put the genie back in the bottle - and while you can change a password, you can never change your DNA. #privacy #technology #dna

11.01.2022 Open Offices are so distracting that Panasonic has developed horse blinders for humans - a cubicle for your face. Would you wear these?

11.01.2022 Great way to wrap up a wonderful week in New Zealand, with a booked out class in Wellington. 2 days working with 20 engaged and insightful people professionals to help them create the future of work in their organisations through Strategic Workforce Planning. Congratulations to the graduates of the 2019 Wellington cohort of the Strategic Workforce Planning Masterclass! And thanks as always to HRNZ for the ongoing partnership. My next trip to New Zealand is early next month, ...to run a Workforce Analytics course in New Plymouth (2nd October), and to keynote the NZ Law conference in Queenstown (5th October). #wellington #strategicworkforceplanning #workforceplanning #futureofwork #workforcestrategy #hr #humanresources

10.01.2022 It was a great pleasure to kick off the Future of Talent Retreat today and lead a conversation about Maverick Talent. I’ve been collaborating with ATC Events & Media for 5 years now, and each event is better than the last. Thank you for inviting me to work with you again!

08.01.2022 Qantas really starts their talent attraction strategies early! These Pilot and Cabin crew uniforms for kids are pretty adorable

08.01.2022 The most 2019 headline of 2019... If you know what "Fortnite sued for 'stealing floss dance' from Backpack Kid" means WITHOUT reading the article, thank (or blame?) the teenager in your life.

08.01.2022 Upskilling workers in the face of automation - fast food workers don't need to be geneticists, and here's why: a great explainer from Singularity Hub. #automation #futureofwork #upskilling #learninganddevelopment

07.01.2022 Lots of insights working today with the Victorian Healthcare Association and its members on how to prepare for the future of Victoria’s Health Workforce, rising to the challenge of change and complexity, and meeting the future needs of the healthcare system. #futureofwork #2030 #systemsthinking #workforcestrategy #futures

03.01.2022 Such a great pleasure to be working with Sustainability Victoria this morning. The organisation empowers Victorians to live sustainably by taking action on climate change and using our precious resources wisely. It’s a mission that is close to my heart and it’s a great privilege to work with the leadership team as they plan for the future and uncover opportunities to further this important work. #strategicplanning #thrivingincomplexity #sustainablefuture

02.01.2022 On this Tinder for Robots, you can swipe left or right to rate each robot by creepiness / niceness. And there's a LOT of creepy ones.
