13.01.2022 AAA Alfred Deakin High School is proud to encourage and support young aspiring artists through our annual school's art extravaganza, AAA. The annual event is an invitation and an opportunity for the school community of ADHS to come together in the celebration of the artistic talents of our students. Due to COVID, this year, the visual artworks of Alfred Deakin's talented students will be presented through a virtual art exhibition on a website thanks to year 10 student Edelin...e Ohk. Combining the skills of our CAD (Computer-Aided Design) students Lance Krumpholz and Lewis Perry, and the students from our classes: Unicorn Visual Arts, Painting and Drawing, and Ceramics and Drawing, we have assembled a truly unique and unforgettable art exhibit that ADHS has never done for the school community to enjoy. Additionally, within the site, we have added in information for the Unicorn Permorming Arts performance tonight and content from the 9/10 Music class. This is a AAA that we have never seen before! View the spectacular Arts event in the following link: https://0308186.wixsite.com/mysite-2

08.01.2022 Happy Wear it Purple Day! Wear it Purple Day is a great opportunity to celebrate the spirit of LGBTIQ+ youth, and to come together as a whole communityLGBTIQ+... people and alliesto support each other. Canberra’s diverse community is such a strength and every child and young person has a right to be proud of who they are. Wear it Purple Day is a reminder that there is still a lot of work to do to in creating safe, empowering and inclusive environments across ACT public schools for all same sex attracted, intersex and gender diverse children and young people every day. LGBTIQ+ young people continue to face additional challenges, particularly with respect to mental health and wellbeing. Public schools are places where studentsand teachers and stafflearn they are valued and accepted. Schools like Alfred Deakin High School show inclusion every day. It was really great to spend time with the Rainbow Kids group for the unveiling of their new logo, some coffee and rainbow cake and to check out their awesome stair artwork.
