25.01.2022 Mysterious moonlight at the Pieland on Sunday night Oct 21. An 84% moon washed put the Milky Way so I did what is called a star trail instead. This is about an hours worth of exposure. I need to go back and get 3 hours for a bigger trail effect. A serendipidous meeting with the owner of the property made this possible. Remnant chimneys of an old house I believe. Beautiful orange moon glow.

22.01.2022 Finally starting on processing my Iceland images! Iceberg chunks and fragments of all sizes are tossed onto the beach near Jokulsaron glacier lagoon. The sand is black as it is formed from volcanic activity over time. Without warning the water can rise up and throw these around with powerful waves. Several times I had to run from rogue waves grabbing tripod and camera or hold my ground while the sand was sucked from underneath my feet.

15.01.2022 Last nights opening at Brightspace St. Kilda. Thanks for the photo Sue Thomson.

14.01.2022 Tawnie update. Visited the tree yesterday and both chicks are still in the nest. Pops is looking after them while Mama sleeps in the next tree. In one of the photos one of the chicks is stretching their wing before snuggling under Pop's wing, while the other chick is keeping a sleepy eye on things on the other side of the nest. All photos taken from 10 metres away using a telephoto lens so that the family is not disturbed. I don't know why people think it is OK to go right to the base of the tree and circle around it reaching up with their phones to try and get a shot, while their dogs run around barking. The nest is precarious as it is and they could easily fall out.

14.01.2022 I managed to get out under the stars last night at a property an hour out of Melbourne. The Milky Way was intermittent between clouds and it was a beautiful location with good company! It has been a long wait to get a clear night and this opportunity.

12.01.2022 There is a storm brewing but it hasn’t erupted yet. Hoping the clouds go away so I can catch the geminid meteor showers.

11.01.2022 Just before xmas a storm cloud was manifesting on the horizon. The light was intense and moody even though it was the middle of the day. I seemed to be the only one noticing the drama in the sky while other people fished, played in the water or lay on the beach sunbaking.

09.01.2022 Committed AKC Committee member Anne Algar, donates a true gem for the 2019 Auction.

08.01.2022 I am pleased to announce that I have received a Silver Award at the Prix de la Photographie Paris 2019, in the Nature | Water category. See link for the series of images I submitted. Merci beaucoup. https://px3.fr/winners/px3/2019/10570/

08.01.2022 On the coast a nice respite from breathing in the smoke from bushfires raging in Victoria and NSW. Light rain, stormy skies, mother nature working out her next move to wake people from their apathy to the natural world around them.

07.01.2022 Three of my images have been selected for a Billboard Project in Moonee Ponds area. The project aims to put public art in unexpected places. This one is located outside Incinerator Gallery and is 3.6 x 2.8 metres. They will be up on display for 3 months. It's big and the printer has done a great job considering the original size! I will post the others when I get there to document next trip. One is on a main road and the other in a shopping mall.

04.01.2022 Tonights full moon on the rise May 19 2019. Quite an amazing orange and moving quickly through thin cloud. Probably one of the best moon rises I have seen with perfect conditions for photography. It was quite mesmerising to watch which made it difficult to concentrate on focus and other camera settings! One shot.

04.01.2022 Here is a link to the recorded interview with artists presented in the show Fluidity, now available to view at Incinerator gallery online. I hope you enjoy. You can hear me talk about my work around the 42-43 minute mark but its worth listening to the whole talk. After all what better way to pass time during the pandemic with a cup of coffee or tea just before your afternoon nap! https://vimeo.com/442245419
