25.01.2022 The book is now in the archives of my old school. Not sure that it could be available for students - after all, it is a story about deceit, crime and murder!

24.01.2022 My website is now up and running! You can find out more at lianknight.com.au. The book will be available online here from 23 March 2019 as well as Hybrid Publishers and selected bookstores including Dymocks https://lianknight.com.au/

19.01.2022 Halfway through writing book 2 and I have taken a timeout to help edit my father's story of his hilarious adventures as a travelling salesman. It's ready for the printers!

19.01.2022 I am super excited to see Idle Lies listed in this week’s Womans Day as one of the top 20 winter reads!

18.01.2022 Fabulous poster has arrived from Kat J Knight Illustrations (see link below) promoting part 2 of the book launch which is open to the public! https://www.facebook.com/search/top/

17.01.2022 The real story about Issy Smith VC I am now more than halfway through completing this book, and each day I come across more incredible facts about him. After pouring over family records, interviewing my father and doing extensive research, in most cases of official records, I have been able to uncover previously hidden dramas and escapades as well as confirm that a lot of information circulating on the internet is incorrect. I plan to adjust this when I am finished. If Issy had been a cat, he would have used all of his nine lives. It is quite incredible that he was even born in the first place, and remarkable that I am here...!

17.01.2022 Today, and every day, whilst I write this story, I think about the men and women who served. If only we could summon a shared view and never let war happen again.

17.01.2022 Many people have asked me recently if all of the story is fiction. Actually there are two events that are absolutely true. Maybe you can guess which ones!

16.01.2022 Here is the news - a very different Book 2! Last week I was interviewed about my grandfather, Sergeant Issy Smith VC. Having spent the last six months researching his story, I now understand what incredible sacrifices were made by all those who served. I am hoping my second book - about Issy’s life - will be published in time for ANZAC day 2021. It would make a fascinating movie. As I mentioned in the article, if Issy was a cat he would have used all of his nine lives... He could be beautifully portrayed by a versatile actor such as Eric Bana!

14.01.2022 Great to see the book advertised in this month's Burwood Bulletin!

14.01.2022 I am so sad to advise that my adorable father has passed away. When I was asked to write his father’s life story, I initially wondered what on earth I had got myself into. It has ended up being the most wonderful opportunity to share this journey of discovery together and to have so many treasured discussions about his origins and the incredible tale that has been uncovered. He wrote the preface and has reviewed the chapters in detail he will be part of this book forever. I miss him terribly.

14.01.2022 Despite having done the bulk of my research on Issy as I work on completing his life story, I keep uncovering little gems. Uploaded to the internet just a few weeks ago, this is 105 year-old footage of the day Issy was awarded his V.C in 1915! Whilst I recently found film I suspect is of him walking in the V.C. guard of honour for the burial of the Unknown Warrior, it is incredibly exciting to uncover conclusive moving images of him - the grandfather I never met. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wdrv5q8q160

12.01.2022 IDLE LIES. A who dunnit? It is. Solved by a private investigator in search of revenge? It is not. It’s what happens when fabrications are left unchecked. Secrets and lies are hard to contain - sometimes they just slip out. It’s a bit like trying to nail a blanket over a vent. Initially, the air is trapped. Eventually, something’s gotta give. ... And so this story unfolds. Just a little deceit here, and a secret escapes there. But lies have consequences. And consequences sometimes clash with the law.

10.01.2022 So pleased to get a write-up in my School magazine - I think this could be a first and I hope it helps past and present students find inspiration and a Christmas gift for those hard to buy for relatives!

06.01.2022 Yesterday I was a guest speaker at my old school for their careers afternoon. It was a truly rewarding experience. Never in a million years did I imagine taking others on my journey, from a child obsessed with animals and books, to a mad dog lady and an author (via a crazy path of medical study and business management in between!)

05.01.2022 Just fantastic to see the book in stores - the dream has come to life!

04.01.2022 It is great to get comments via my website. Some are informative, whilst others are simply entertaining!

02.01.2022 I went to my local library to donate a copy of my book...only to find they had copies in stock already! What a lovely surprise...
