25.01.2022 MEALMAKERS 2020 This is happening again!! I’m so excited to be a ‘Mealmaker’ this year but I’ve got some work to do to raise at least $5000! Now more than ever Foodbank’s work really matters, with so many needing help, every donation no matter what size counts, just 1 dollar means 2 meals for our hungry. I’ll be joining WA’s business leaders for a huge week of cooking with some of our best chefs in the middle of September. I’ve kick-started my campaign with $500, i...t’s pretty amazing to think that’s 1000 meals! I didnt think anything could match the moment of meeting our new baby.. but then this Suddenly our crazy, unpredictable little boy has turned into the most careful & gentle big brother.. which was the most wonderful shock! We were so lucky the hospital just started letting visiting family in.. Jenni has spent most of her time just snoozing (hence no good open eye photos yet!)... 09.01.2022 Its safe to say its been a strange and emotional week.. what started as disbelief and sadness seeing Aussies stripping supermarket shelves in a panic has turned into something pretty amazing Just a few days ago @foodbankwa was desperate, its volunteers couldnt source food to feed WAs hungry so they threw together an emergency food drive. This boot-load is just from a few families who live around me, some were even in isolation and were giving up what they had for people who needed it more.. There was even loo paper! And this was just the beginning.. 11.5 TONNES of food came in today. There are also WA businesses whove donated over $100,000 dollars. Im so grateful and proud of everyone who is helping so selflessly in this horrible situation.. THANKYOU!!! @foodbankwa @foodbankaus

02.01.2022 MEALMAKERS 2020 Every time I visit FoodBank WA I’m stunned by something new I see or hear, on my latest visit it was the fact that Foodbanks Community Kitchen has saved 100,000kg of food from going to landfill and turned it into 250,000 meals. I’m still trying to wrap my head around all that saved waste I was there for Mealmakers 2020, and although I was banned from the community kitchen this year with my broken foot (it’s an efficient full on food making machine and ther...e’s no room for the weak) I got to do the fun part which was learn from @chris_anca aka @rawbychris who is new to the event and wants to throw her support behind FoodBank. Anyone who has tried her treats knows she’s a magician in the kitchen, but she’s also an advocate for reducing food waste Thanks to @digitalhitmen for tagging along and taking a zillion great pics, and of course @foodbankwa for running such a brilliant event. BHP @amp_au @macmahonmining @qbeaus @fionakalaf & Vocus also supported this year and they were a fantastic team to cook with! I am still drooling over our stuffed eggplant and avocado chocolate mousse.. 02.01.2022 Who doesn’t love the silly season?! It’s our favourite time of year but Summer in Australia is also when a lot of scary accidents can happen, I realised that pretty quickly working in news. It’s one of the reasons that just after Max was born we all did a first aid course, and I’m going to be dragging everyone off to a refresher lesson soon. It’s also why we’re teaming up with @stjohnwa to try and help every West Aussie get prepped for the unplanned. St John’s new fundraisin...g arm St John Giving will serve the largest, most remote territory in the world (yep, that’s WA!) & identify gaps in our chain of survival. It’ll better care for the vulnerable and equip the next generation with confidence, whatever they are confronted with. You never know who may need first aid - or who will have to give it!
