21.01.2022 Hundreds of people came to see the "Alice Spring" yesterday, a fairly modest flow of the Todd but it's been a long time between drinks! One of our busiest ever February days at the Telegraph Station, so a big thank you to all the locals who came out for a coffee or milkshake.

19.01.2022 The Alice Springs Telegraph Station Café & Historical Precinct is CLOSED as of today. We will open with an expanded café post COVID-19 pandemic. This is a difficult time for everyoneand a great opportunity for the community of Alice Springs to shine and work as one to support each other to get through this. Stay healthy and safe and we can’t wait to be serving up our community history and vanilla slice to you in the future. Clarke & Justine Petrick

Shortly afterwards, Charles Todd sent the first telegram across the completed line, from Central Mount Stuart (on a portable morse code set), and 2 months later, Australia was connected with the rest of the world.
