23.01.2022 new year - new directions. We're going back to the future with the way we undertake our projects ... undertaking the design, the development and the construction.....a bit of residential, a bit of commercial, a bit of fun...

23.01.2022 We found some old photos of the furniture designed and manufactured well over 50 years ago in Perth by our family' furniture company. Dutch migrants starting afresh in Perth, this was the genesis of Alijn, following our family members in design and then building, new and innovative stuff. These timber dining suites at the WA Furniture fair in the early 60,s received a number of design and innovation awards. Though the display looks pretty dated!! In Perth the use of jarrah and teak with timber grained laminex that had started to be developed in the late 1950's was viewed as very modern, and when coupled with various styles of tables that could be extended- modern technology and innovation was on the move!!!!!

12.01.2022 The finishing touch balancing our remediation of the former RPH Nurses Quarters carpark structure. The owners of Bey Apartments commissioned this sensational mural by @brentonsee which expertly references the local flora and fauna found in this area.

07.01.2022 Congratulations @leannybasil for the praise your design received at JDAP for development approval for our latest development. 333 Oxford Street, Leederville has been deisgned on a 500sqm 12m wide block with significant falls, yet Leanny has created fine grain architecture that is true to the location, using a very limited palette of materials and has achieved all aesthetic, environmental, sustainable and economic objectives. This development will be a great example of intergrating urban infill into an existing commercial and residential fabric with heritage considerations. These are not really apartments but 7 homes on a vertical plane, with the added benefit of a small shop and community spaces for social and neighbourhood integration.!
