25.01.2022 Ah that good old weather anxiety feeling all couples get.... nothing beats it, your heart flips out and most couples feel it especially those NSW weddings when weather is worst thunderstorm ever one day , sunshine and blue sky the next!! The only way to prevent dreaded weather anxiety is to plan for it and be excited about your back up plan too! Lots of couples fall in love with a ceremony spot or reception venue but haven’t prepared for wet weather for one or e...ven both locations or for the number of guests they’ve invited... So I f you’re one of those couples that are all locked and loaded in your ceremony and reception locations, but haven’t really planned for wet weather, I’d surly get onto that quick smart before the week of your wedding preferably... not really best to wait until you’ve noticed the week’s weather forecast.... And if you do notice that forecast being not so good the week of... contact your venue manager, wedding coordinator, stylist and florist and let them know how you are feeling and come up with a plan together. 21.01.2022 Well, what a year 2019 has been for me... a lot of you have noticed, and thanks for those who reached out, that I’d slowed down a little and took a big breather to really think about the way I run my weddings and how to make things even better - not just for my clients, but for my vendors and of course myself! I’m in love with this team pic of me, my newly eloped couple Mo & Cam, and all my hand picked best of the best vendors from back in May this year in the RNP. It ...brings back the memories of one of the most incredible elopements I’ve ever planned in full, and I’m so proud of who I brought together to work with on that elopement. Being a boutique planner can be extremely hard work on your own, and I put every single ounce of my energy into my weddings that after the huge high and excitement of the wedding day I need some time after to rest and recoup... photos like these remind me why I am a wedding planner and why I love what I do, and why it’s worth all the huge amount of energy I put into each and every one! 19.01.2022 Congratulations to our couple Janice + Richard! After a whole year of planning your wedding with you, I’m so unbelievably proud of you two, your families, and the whole vendor team for the unforgettable wedding we created together! This wedding went ahead on the family’s rural farm property beside a flowing river in the Megalong Valley on that weekend of the NSW floods. The worst floods the state had seen in over 60 years! ... Thank heavens our wedding wasn’t flooded out, but it sure did come with it’s fair share of muddy and rainy challenges (more details to be disclosed soon!)! BUT nothing could stop this unforgettable wedding from happening. It was the type of wedding we’ll all be telling our grandchildren in years to come! 19.01.2022 Ah aren’t we all just over all this COVID talk! When oh when is it all going to be in the past and far behind us?! Let’s move on already!! Well... the truth is... it ain’t disappearing from the face of the earth any time soon, no matter how much we are all praying! But on the positive side, thankfully for Sydney siders, our government restrictions are becoming more lenient as the months roll by. For all those couples planning smaller weddings this year, and larger w...edding next year, it’s looking positive that our weddings will go ahead on exact dates (maybe with a few tweaks but still possible)! My last top tip was more focussed on planning around COVID. This top tip is about having a germ free wedding day! With everyone all over the world now germaphobes, it’s so important now more than ever to not only keep your wedding as clean as possible, but to demonstrate you’ve provided your guests with options to keep them safe. Here are my tips on some options you can provide to guests on your wedding day: organise personalised mini hand sanitizers as wedding favors have gorgeous styled hand sanitizing stations (with big pumps of sanitizer) at your ceremony, by the lavatories, by the bar and the entrance of your reception room. place a ‘comfort wrist band’ system at the entrance of your venue so guests wearing them visually know boundaries of other guests. Each colour band represents a comfort zone e.g Pink - keep distance. Blue- comfortable talking but no hugging, White - comfy with high fives and hugs! consider providing face masks for your guests too - cute personalised masks are also now becoming available! Opt for an online gift registry or charity over a gift table or wishing well which requires touching. Have a digital invitation suite, including rsvp tracking online with a website included! Go for a digital guest book. Guests click a link you send which can be up on screen at wedding (incl selfies!) and printed by you later on. Touchless photo booths - you provide backdrop and guests do selfies with your hashtag! With all these options there’s no excuses not to have a squeaky clean day! Want more ideas? 18.01.2022 How lucky am I to be the full wedding planner for these two gorgeous human beings?! I mean, Janice and Richard reached out to me just as rona reared it’s head... and we have been kicking all our goals, keeping all our plans well and truly progressed, and booking the most amazing vendors which makes us next level excited ! These two are so excited about their big day that nothing can stop our plans, yet we’re being smart by ensuring we are right across all our contract’s ...T&Cs if a postponement would have to be made because of the current uncertain climate. Lets be real, the weather in this Eastern side of Aus is so unpredictable with sometimes four seasons in the one day! So please don’t be in denial or have any regrets - be prepared! 10.01.2022 Well hasn’t the COVID-19 pandemic been a really weird and scary time to be alive!! Hope everyone has been keeping safe and well and out of harm’s way! For couples who have had to reschedule or postpone your weddings - I salute you!! SO much organisation and time goes into postponing and rescheduling again, so hang in there and stay positive - YOU WILL have your dream wedding don’t you worry!! ... For couples who are just starting their plans - what a perfect time to do just that!! Isolation is a blessing in disguise - SO much time at home to get on the web to start working on your vows, your runsheets and your official wedding songs and full playlist - maybe even practice your first dance (or kiss ) while you’re at it!! And as for consults, well that is a breeze too!! Did you know it is possible to have virtual consults via FaceTime, zoom etc with suppliers such as your: venue viewing wedding dress designer photographers florists celebrant As for your cake - some suppliers (very awesome suppliers) send tasting samples straight to your door!! *please invite me to the tasting sesh!! These days it’s so easy to communicate to your guests entirely electronically! Yaaas! Try sending out e-vites (digital invites)! There are online full invite suite suppliers out there which have all your e-vite dreams all in the one place - also including save the dates, RSVP tracker, personalised wedding website and your own wedding app! Check out Appy Couple for size My biggest advice is... don’t be too laid back with securing your fave vendors because there are so many dates available just now with weddings on hold. Just make sure your dates are secure with your dream vendors ASAP and before dates disappear the minute restrictions are lifted!! So really, in the scheme of things, COVID-19 has been a shock to the system and a big worry for all of us, but by keeping positive, you realise it ain’t all that bad for all you couples planning weddings out there!! 02.01.2022 Just start! Sometimes the hardest part is just starting... I have many clients who have spent so long - months or years in fact, procrastinating about their wedding before coming to me... I totally get it, this may be their first time planning a wedding and it’s all so new and daunting! They would start off being excited doing a little research, but soon that excitement turns to overwhelm or anxiety not knowing which vendor to trust, or feeling they can’t afford the ve...ndors they really desperately want... Next thing they knew they were back to square one again. I love getting started with my clients, seeing their relief and real excitement as I help them progress their dream wedding plans. 01.01.2022 Ah aren’t we all just over all this COVID talk! When oh when is it all going to be in the past and far behind us?! Let’s move on already!! Well... the truth is... it ain’t disappearing from the face of the earth any time soon, no matter how much we are all praying! But on the positive side, thankfully for Sydney siders, our government restrictions are becoming more lenient as the months roll by. For all those couples planning smaller weddings this year, and larger w...edding next year, it’s looking positive that our weddings will go ahead on exact dates (maybe with a few tweaks but still possible)! My last top tip was more focussed on planning around COVID. This top tip is about having a germ free wedding day! With everyone all over the world now germaphobes, it’s so important now more than ever to not only keep your wedding as clean as possible, but to demonstrate you’ve provided your guests with options to keep them safe. Here are my tips on some options you can provide to guests on your wedding day: organise personalised mini hand sanitizers as wedding favors have gorgeous styled hand sanitizing stations (with big pumps of sanitizer) at your ceremony, by the lavatories, by the bar and the entrance of your reception room. place a ‘comfort wrist band’ system at the entrance of your venue so guests wearing them visually know boundaries of other guests. Each colour band represents a comfort zone e.g Pink - keep distance. Blue- comfortable talking but no hugging, White - comfy with high fives and hugs! consider providing face masks for your guests too - cute personalised masks are also now becoming available! Opt for an online gift registry or charity over a gift table or wishing well which requires touching. Have a digital invitation suite, including rsvp tracking online with a website included! Go for a digital guest book. Guests click a link you send which can be up on screen at wedding (incl selfies!) and printed by you later on. Touchless photo booths - you provide backdrop and guests do selfies with your hashtag! With all these options there’s no excuses not to have a squeaky clean day! Want more ideas?
