23.01.2022 'Hmm'. An actual voice from the past.

22.01.2022 Looking at my reading year, here are my favourite 4 reads for 2019, judged by reading pleasure over literary style (in no particular order): - Bridge of Clay by Marcus Zuzak - yes it was too long, but how I came to love those brothers - Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend - for the delightful imagination of this fantasy world for kids - The Yellow House by Emily O'Grady - made me remember how it felt to be a little girl growing up. Cub is the most empathetic and heart-rending character I read this year, even when she wasn't likeable -The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan - kept me speed reading and flipping pages through the whole 800 page epic adventure

I'll be in academically exalted company, talking with the other recipients of the 2019 Premier's History Prize. Follow this link to register. https://historycouncilnsw.org.au/hc-event-transformational/

10.01.2022 My short story 'The Red Button', taken from the memoir I've been writing with Lavinia Podolak, has been shortlisted for this prize! I am really happy about it.

06.01.2022 Woohoo - a prize that celebrates historical fiction by Australian writers! I am so looking forward to seeing the shortlist and reading any I've missed.

02.01.2022 The inaugural historical novel prize longlist is out. Conratulations to the authors. I've only read one - better get my glasses on!
