25.01.2022 Been putting the finishing touches on Flow State, a workshop combining the potency of two embodied learning modalities: art therapy and the Feldenkrais Method. ...It's happening on Sunday at Zen Space Samford and we still have a couple of spaces left if you get in quick stix! I bring Awareness Through Movement lessons based on the Feldenkrais Method. Alison Stone brings therapeutic art practice. To be honest, we ran through the whole thing (this is a well designed experiment!) and the state by the end was stable, solidly grounded, connected, and lots of things quite counter to the everyday experiences that freak us out, take us out of ourselves. This week in our Art Therapy session I explored the direction and content of my Art Therapy classes. We decided to explore how I felt about my previous career as a Graphic Designer (drawing 2). This was full of energy, vibrancy, creativity, interaction and fun. However there was a lot of stress running over the top of the good. We then explored my Art Therapy sessions rec...ent shift of direction (Drawing 3). It was heavy, lack of energy, draining. Then I explored how it felt to use my Art Therapy training as an Expressive Arts Facilitator, there was a good balance of energy, creativity and exploration (Drawing 1). 09.01.2022 Art Therapy grounds, educates and empowers me. It continually surprises me Art is a powerful tool! A fellow Art Therapist and myself meet weekly to practice Art Therapy processes, swapping roles each week from Art Therapist to Inquirer. Last week as we moved through the inquiry process a statement ‘Freedom in Structure’ arose for me. This statement surprised me. I learned how structure was important for me to gain freedom. I explored this idea further during the week stayi...ng attuned to my body resonances and created this multimodal art work. This is just a stepping stone for further explorations If anyone is curious to learn more I am offering one on one sessions through zoom.
