24.01.2022 Our association Occupational Therapy Australia, of which I am a member, has just released it's logo (see attached).... so when you see this logo you will know that this OT is a member and connected with other OTs for professional development and updates.

22.01.2022 I hope you are all keeping safe and well. Please don't hesitate to call to touch base if you need. I just read this quote from an Occupational Therapy Association post:

18.01.2022 Hopefully we won't need this up our way (Albury and Riverina) but great to know that the government is finally responding to the possible needs should NDIS participants contract the dreaded C.V. Stay safe guys - don't be embarrased to wear a mask if you are in close spaces, and don't be offended if a carer or health care worker wears a mask when within 1.5 m of you - this is now mandated by the health department - to protect YOU.

17.01.2022 I have been an Occupational Therapist since graduating in 2011. I am passionate about equipping people to remain living within their communities and engaged in the various community groups and activies within them. Prior to training as an Occupational Therapist, I was a secondary teacher (visual arts and maths for 18 years), and have raised two children.... so have heaps of life experience to add to the mix. I will be providing Occupational Therapy services to NDIS clients (...Plan Managed and Self Managed) from 7 years and over. I am based in Jindera, Greater Hume, NSW (just 15 minutes north of Albury) and plan to service within a radius of approximately one and half hours travel. I will consider offering an 'outreach' to towns outside of this region if a cluster of clients could be identified. I currently have clients from Corowa to Wagga Wagga and in between. Please call and have a chat, text, or send a message via email and I will get back to you as soon as possible. My work days are Wednesday to Friday, weekends if required. See more

15.01.2022 I love Sue Larkey's posts!

11.01.2022 I love Sue Larkey's posts. If you have a child with autism, or are a teacher, she has some fantastic resources, blogs and online learning opportunities.

10.01.2022 Here is some useful information - There is a app called The National Pubic Toilet Map. You can filter for disability access toilets and changing places facilities. https://toiletmap.gov.au/... There is apparently even one in Lavington!

07.01.2022 Worth a read....

06.01.2022 "Nobody is putting me into a box." Dougie Herd - summing up exactly how people with disability and families are feeling about NDIS compulsory assessments. Doug...ie and many others spoke to the Joint Standing Committee on the NDIS at their independent assessments inquiry yesterday. The NDIA and NDIS Minister appeared earlier this week. They revealed that the results of your compulsory assessment will go into a computer and then the algorithm will put you into one of 400 boxes with a dollar figure attached. They called the boxes 'personas'. This is Dougie's response. #NDIS #HandsOffOurNDIS Help amplify Dougie's message and send the NDIS Minister an email using our website - it only takes a minute or two https://everyaustraliancounts.com.au/hands-off/ Find the full-length videos and Hansard transcripts from https://www.aph.gov.au/Watch_Read_Listen

03.01.2022 I am passionate about equipping people to remain living within their communities and engaged in the various roles that are important to them. I am also interested in ways that the environment can be adapted to enable occupation (ie home mods, community design). I have been an Occupational Therapist since graduating in 2011. 02.01.2022 Just a shout out to the work of Dementia Australia for the great work they do in providing support to persons diagnosed with dementia and their families and carers! Would you like to join me in making a donation or walking with us on the 14th February in Wodonga in raising awareness?
