20.01.2022 Labor has raked in nearly $4 million (that we know of) from fossil fuel and resource companies since 2012. Taking real action on climate change must include an overhaul of political donations laws to kick corporate influence out of politics.

20.01.2022 That's a wrap on our second week of the November sitting. We had the Prevent Support Heal rally at Parliament as well as WA Forest Alliance and Save Our Jarrah's rally to stop Alcoa's expansion of bauxite operations in the South West. Next week is budget estimates AND annual report hearings It won't be a normal sitting week but as always I will keep you all updated on what's happening in Parliament What is everyone getting up to this weekend?

19.01.2022 This weekend I want you to be a part of something BIG. LINK IN COMMENTS Our movement is working to build a future that is sustainable, looks after everyone and ensures people and our planet are at the forefront of decision-making. To do this, we need to get more Greens voices elected to WA Parliament in the March 2021 State Election. WA is a huge source of Australia's emissions and THE battleground state for climate action This election represents a crossroads for WA a...nd will determine whether we take climate action in the next decade to secure a safe future for our kids The time for bold government investment in renewables and green jobs is NOW Join me for our Weekend of Action where we will have thousands of conversations with North Metro folks about issues that matter to them and how we can build a future for all of us. The Greens (WA) are having 40+ events state-wide so if you aren't in North Metro then there is probably still an event near you. Let's do this Link in comments

19.01.2022 Housing is a human right Yet Western Australians are facing the worst rental shortages since 2007 and many folks are being pushed into homelessness. This State Government needs to urgently build enough social housing.

18.01.2022 CW: Pinjarra (Gnaala Karla Booja region) massacre . . The police have a long legacy of problematic dealings with First Nations peoples, which even WA’s own police commissioner has recognised. These sorts of inflammatory reinventions of history by the Police Union do nothing to heal these divisions. ... We must tell the truth about Western Australia's history.

15.01.2022 It’s Trans Awareness Week and now more than ever it’s important that cis people like myself strive to be good allies. This article outlines some ways you can support the transgender, non-binary and gender diverse members of our community. As an MP, allyship also means fighting for: an end to conversion therapy practices in WA improved health and mental health services for our LGBTIQA+ community... laws to ensure that LGBTIQA+ students or faculty cannot be turned away from schools because of their gender or sexual orientation stronger LGBTIQA+ hate crime legislation #TransRightsAreHumanRights

10.01.2022 Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance, a day where the transgender and non-binary communities come together to remember those who died early due to their experiences with transphobia and hate. We recognise that today is both a painful and mournful day of reflection for transgender and non-binary people as we reflect on the lives lost and the lasting impacts these folks had in their communities. Today (and every day) I am in solidarity with the transgender and non-binary co...mmunities. #TransRightsAreHumanRights [IMAGE DESCRIPTION: a person holding up the transgender flag with the text Transgender Day of Remembrance']

05.01.2022 Remembrance day is many things to many people. Rituals of remembrance and expressions of grief are taking place across our community it is a day to remember those who fell on battlefields far from home This Remembrance Day we remember and pay our respect, not to justify, sanctify or glorify. We do so because to do otherwise would be to condone the violent cycle of war; it would be to sit back and watch as countless more are reduced to names on memorials.... Lest we forget.

03.01.2022 Was chuffed to have been invited to attend the official opening of the WA Museum Boola Bardip yesterday The project has been over a decade in the making and, through successive governments, the Greens have been consistent in our support for a quality public and accessible museum The building is extraordinary (yes I love it) and it was special to see treasured old exhibits like the blue whale. As a child who grew up with little money, my family were regular visitors to the museum which was free. I am looking forward to the rest of the exhibits being installed

02.01.2022 This one is for my North Metro community who are being ignored by this State Government about development proposals. If you feel like planning decisions are rigged in the favour of developers, you're not alone. The Greens support responsible infill where robust community consultation informs decision making. But successive governments have adopted a completely developer-driven model, and now Labor has given the Minister power to push developments through even if they would ot...herwise be unlawful I mean... seriously?! This Labor Government seems keen to clear every last barrier to development while limiting options for communities to appeal planning decisions. The community is frustrated and tired of being ignored. The spin doctors would have you believing that they're 'removing red tape' but really all Labor is doing is culling community consultation from the planning process.
