25.01.2022 Today is a significant day for a lot of people especially the ones who have lived experiences or been affected by suicide, the loss of a life in this situation is truly devastating. It can be a heavy day with a lot of mixed emotions. We see Suicide Prevention day and R U OK day as a huge reminder that suicide and mental health is a huge issue... not only for the Kimberley Region but for the whole world. It’s an acknowledgement to those who have suffered and who continue to d...eal with this dark cloud utilising the right ongoing support... you are Resilient! It’s also an acknowledgement of all the amazing people working tirelessly on the ground with an ongoing passion to break down the stigma of suicide amongst our people. Here at AKG we provide a holistic approach in breaking down walls and building pathways of support... Together we can support each other to live a strong an healthy lifestyle. Today let’s celebrate LIFE where our lived experiences drive us to work towards a brighter future where seeking help is no longer shame, where we all have the confidence to stand up and say we are strong and Resilient! Let’s all take it upon ourselves... let’s all stay ALIVE & Kicking Goals!

In regards to SEWB what changes/ improvements would you like to see in your town or community? - A revitalization of empowerment for youth and beyond through consistent inclusive and community driven events. - Infrastructure for young people that provides a place to go after hours, 24 hour services, increases infrastructure for students to stay and study in Broome. - Collaboration or a large memorandum of understanding with all organisations in Broome to improve funding distribution and establish accountability. - Just complete communication and breaking silos and barriers that are effecting change. John Quigley and Principle Policy Adviser to Minister Wyatt - Howard Pederson. It was a great opportunity to showcase the hard work our teams are doing across the Kimberley. MOSAC and the teams very much appreciate them taking time out of their busy schedule to hear about our programs. We wish both all the best in the upcoming election ...and hope to cross paths again.
