25.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVN-2qoquyE Now that we've reached the letter 'P' in our A to Z seventies countdown, we'd thought we'd give you something really special. This is Peter Frampton performing his beautiful ballad, 'Baby, I Love Your Way' at The Oakland Coliseum Stadium in 1977. Brings back so many beautiful memories. Fun Fact: There were few things more iconic back in the '70s than the cover of the album, 'Frampton Comes Alive'. The photo of Peter on stage with hi...s black Les Paul Custom guitar was etched into everybody music lover's psyche. In 1980, while Frampton was on tour in South America, the guitar was put on a cargo plane in Venezuela, en route to Panama. The plane crashed right after takeoff, destroying all of his equipment. What Frampton didn't know is that the guitar had survived, albeit with some burns and bruises. It fell into the hands of a musician on the Caribbean island of Curaçao, who owned it for many years before a local guitar collector spotted it and contacted Frampton. After some negotiation, the guitar was returned to Frampton, 32 years later! See more

22.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wO8toxinoc For today's clip as part of our A to Z seventies countdown, we have 'M' for Meat Loaf. Here's his massive 1977 hit, 'You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth'. Mama Cath and Papa Pan love singing this one, and it's always a crowd favourite. On a hot summer's night!... Fun Fact: Despite his theatrical singing style, Meat Loaf never had a singing lesson in his life. It's taken its toll on him as time's gone on.

20.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS9OO0S5w2k Who else could we have representing the letter 'V' in our 'A to Z' seventies countdown than The Village People? Here they are performing a song that is a big crowd favourite at our gigs, 'Y.M.C.A'! Fun Fact: Following on from the success of "Y.M.C.A.," the United States Navy contacted The Village People to seek a similar song for the navy. The song 'In The Navy' resulted, with the video being filmed on the deck of the warship U.S.S Reasoner in dock at the San Diego Naval Base!

19.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fq8gG3pzMrU Well, we've finally come to the end of our 'Alive In The 70s' A to Z seventies countdown. So many great songs, and we didn't even scratch the surface. We hope we've given you a little bit of distraction from the current situation. For our last clip, we're going to cheat a little bit. Sure, for the letter 'Z' we could have featured ZZ Top (And that would have been awesome), but we absolutely could not leave out this guy. ... In 1972, an alien rock star crash landed on earth, and nothing was ever the same again. For this was the moment that David Bowie gave us his most beautiful creation, Ziggy Stardust. This clip is from Bowie's final performace as Ziggy at the Hammersmith Odeon in London on the 3rd July 1973. Fun Fact: David Bowie was freaking awesome!

19.01.2022 Hi Groovers! Here's a special message from our very own Mama Cath. We really miss playing for you all, and what better way to express it than through a song? Take it away, Mama!

18.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M70eYXdb5uo Today it's the letter 'T' on our 'A to Z' countdown of the '70s, and we thought we'd lay some good 'ol TMG on you. We all know 'Jump In My Car', but let's not forget this little rocker, 'Darktown Strutters' Ball'. Take it away, Ted!... Fun Fact: This version by 'The Ted Mulry Gang' is actually a cover. It was first recorded by Shelton Brooks back in 1917, and it became a popular jazz standard!

14.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHcYFxU4fMo It's getting near the end of our 'A to Z' seventies countdown now. Today we're doing the letter 'W' for 'Wild Cherry'. Here they are with their 1976 hit, 'Play That Funky Music'. Right On!... Fun Fact: While playing the clubs, the band's drummer, Ronald Beitle, recounted hearing a fan shout "Are you white boys gonna play some funky music?" Rob Parissi, the lead vocalist and guitarist, was inspired to write a song based on the phrase; he began on a drink order pad with a pen borrowed from the bartender. The rest is history.

13.01.2022 More hits live from the Isolation Lounge!

12.01.2022 Ok, this is pretty damn funny!!!

12.01.2022 Isolated but Alive in the 70s'!!

11.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3hBYTkI-sE For today's 'A to Z' of the seventies clip, we're going to cheat a little bit. Rather than featuring a performer or band starting with the letter 'U', we're going to post a song instead. We felt like hearing some super groovy, so we went with this one. It's the awesome Bill Withers performing his 1972 classic, 'Use Me'. Sadly, we lost Bill recently. R.I.P, Bill. Right On!... Fun Fact: Withers was making toilet seats for Boeing 747s in 1970 when he was introduced to Booker T. Jones (Booker T and the MG's), who subsequently produced Withers' first LP, Just As I Am, with Stephen Stills on lead guitar. The album cover is a photo of Withers at the factory where he worked - he's holding his lunch pail.

11.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmZoQFYYx8U We thought we'd skip the letter 'X' in our 'A to Z' seventies countdown, and go on to 'Y'. We realised that we had not included any Prog Rock, so here is 'Yes' with Roundabout - complete with extended solos and superhero capes! Right on!... Fun Fact: Yes holds the record for the most performances at New York City's Madison Square Garden during the 1970s!

10.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/results For the letter 'O' in our A to Z seventies countdown, we're bringing you some of our very own Olivia Newton John. Livvy sounds amazing on this 1978 hit from the movie, 'Grease'. We all hope she's doing OK. Such a voice! Fun Fact: During the filming of the classic scene in Grease where Olivia is wearing those black tights at the fairground, her zipper broke forcing the crew to sew her into them!

08.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2fVm8Y70mA It's time for another installment of our A to Z seventies countdown, folks. Today it's 'S', and this was a hard one. There were so many great bands and performers in the '70s starting with the letter 'S'. Sherbet, Suzie Quatro, Sweet - the list goes on. Ultimately, though, we just had to go with Australia's very own Skyhooks. These guys were HUGE in the early '70s, and they gave us some true Aussie Classics, including this little ripper! Here is, 'Ego (Is Not A Dirty Word), from Countdown in 1975. Fun Fact: Skyhooks supposedly got their name from a fictional organisation that appears in the 1956 sci-fi film, 'Earth vs.The Flying Saucers'!

08.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esUHMBHJsn8 Continuing on with our 'Alive In The 70s' A to Z countdown, we bring to you Rod Stewart. The artwork on his classic 1975 album, Atlantic Crossing, must be some of the grooviest artwork to ever grace an album cover. Here's Rod performing the beautiful 'I Don't Wanna Talk About It', from that very LP. From what I can work out, this is actually a clip of Rod performing it right here in Australia in 1977! Fun Fact: Rod Stewart is a massive model railway buff. Over 23 years, he built a huge scale model of an American city, complete with railway, in his house. Google it. It's amazing!

08.01.2022 Hi Groovers! We thought we'd share with you a little something that we've been messing around with while keeping Covid safe. We decided to get our Elton on and give ‘Rocket Man’ a go. We hope you like it. Unfortunately, our lead guitarist, Sam, wasn't available, so John took care of all of the guitary bits. To be honest, we think that John just wanted an excuse to dress up in three different costumes, but let's not go there!... We desperately miss all of your smiling faces, and we can't wait to be able to play for you again. We're keeping our platforms polished and our collars starched in anticipation, so watch this space. Until then, please stay safe and groovy, and see you all soon. Right On!

05.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMnjF1O4eH0 Who else could we have representing the letter 'Q' in our A to Z seventies countdown than the inimitable 'Queen'?! They just don't make 'em like Freddie anymore. Rock On!... Fun Fact: According to the Guinness Book Of Records, the Official International Queen Fan Club is the longest running rock group fan club in the world.

05.01.2022 Hiya, Groovers! It looks like Mama Cath and Papa Pan have been keeping themselves busy, or just plain losing it, as we all patiently wait for life to go back to some kind of normal. Here they are to entertain you with their own take on a '70s classic. Right On!

01.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkGOrIBCcg4 We've reached the letter 'N' on our A to Z seventies countdown. This is Neil Young giving us a solo acoustic version of his 1971 hit. 'Heart Of Gold'. This is some truly beautiful and haunting stuff right here, folks! Fun Fact: It' s hard to imagine, but Neil Young was once in a band with 'Superfreak' Rick James!
