19.01.2022 Dear Members, On Sunday 29th November, the Alkimos Development Carnival will be held at our club for U10 to U15. This is an opportunity for our Woodside Nippers & Youth to get a taste of what competition is before deciding if they want to enter in further competitions throughout the season. Alkimos SLSC would like to see all our members give the carnival a go or come down to support those who do. The day will consist of flags, boards and a swim. With the water events bein...g reduced in length to allow all competent levels of Woodside Nippers & Youth an opportunity to participate. If you wish to enter your child, please advise us by email at [email protected] no later the 5pm Sunday 22nd of November. Please note that there will be a $10 entry fee and the standard Woodside Nipper programs will not run on that day, for all nipper and youth age groups. However, encouragement for the competitors is welcome. A few key competition musts, all competitors are required to wear the yellow Woodside Nipper vest as well as a club competition cap during events. The caps can be purchased at the club store for $15. In addition, any parents who would like to be more active in the surf sports area, please speak up. There are always spots to assist with the events and managing the kids on the day. Volunteers are needed for beach set-up and pack-down on the day, as well as BBQ duties, please consider putting your hand up, your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Your age group manager is the best first point of contact for any quires and volunteers. The day will be filled with activity for the competitors, and exciting for all those who want to see what is involved in Surf competitions. It will be great to see as many members as possible in down on the beach cheering our competitors. Hope to see you down there!!

19.01.2022 Another great Sunday on the beach for Alkimos SLSC and the Woodside Nippers program. We would also like to thank Jacob Wentholt from LINESPEED Athletic Performance Training for the sprint training sessions held on the beach the kids learnt a lot and had a great deal of fun as well.

19.01.2022 Getting involved with the club can be in many different forms, from helping with our Social Media to helping with the retail store or BBQ to helping on the beach during Woodside Nippers. You do not have to be a great swimmer to get involved. To help you understand what roles there are at the club and to let you ask any questions around the club we have decided to run an information session. The last of two sessions will be run out of the Alkimos Pop Up library TOMORROW (Satur...day) 12th September - 15:00 - 16:00 If you cant make tomorrow and would like to know more please email [email protected] and we will arrange a time where one of us can call you to discuss the open roles and answer any questions. 13.01.2022 Good Evening Members, Thank you to all those who came to our AKSLSC Awards Event held yesterday at the club. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, but unfortunately there were a few who missed out due to not seeing the Event post and reminders advertised on Facebook. Each years end of season celebrations are supposed to be big events with activities, dignitaries, a shortened Last Nipper Program and then the awarding of Certificates and Medals. A reminder at each ...week for the month leading up to the last day normally happens so everyone is on the same page. But as we all know, COVID stopped our normal daily lives, routine and everyone scattered. Unfortunately, when registering, many people opted not to receive emails, which is one of a few reasons why we could only use Facebook with the short timeframe we had to have this event planned within. We will make sure everyone is educated about this email option when re-registering this coming season. As there are a small number of children who are yet to receive their Medal and Certificate of Participation, we absolutely have a Plan B for those who missed out! On the Sunday, 20th September we will be holding another small ceremony within our Open / Registration Day held at the club (which will also be advertised on Facebook once arrangements have been finalised) so we can acknowledge and celebrate our remaining Nippers who deserve their day too so they can be recognized and feel proud of their achievements. I am hoping that the day will be jam packed with events and activities.
