25.01.2022 It’s a big day for our AAY community today!!! Today we commence our audit process. It’s a process I am extremely anxious about.... we are all fearful of the unknown though. I know today I will give my best for AAY. Wish us luck

20.01.2022 Yesterday started with a 9am mini golf game at the place where we stayed!!!!

20.01.2022 We are excited to announce our new service which will commence in January 2021!!!!!! We are opening a community access/skill development and respite facility in Geeveston!! Please see images below for further details. We are currently seeking expressions of interest. I currently reside in this house but will be moving in December 2020 so the house will be utilised exclusively for All About You services!!! We are very excited!! Please feel free to share.

10.01.2022 Today we did something a little extra special and had some up close and personal animal encounters at Tasmania Zoo. The cheetahs were amazing as were all the other encounters!! Everyone loved the opportunity!!!!

08.01.2022 All About You has grown and transformed significantly in the past 6-12 months and I feel it’s time to start sharing some of the philosophies behind what we do and why we do it. I am very aware that we don’t fit the mould, so to speak and I am very proud that we don’t. In my opinion the NDIS was designed and developed to change the way of the Disability Sector and to increase people’s choice and control over their own lives but most importantly its aim is to assist people to ...live an ordinary life just like the rest of us; to acknowledge and promote that people with disability are no different to anyone else and that we all have the same rights in this world we live in. We as an Organisation approach support differently. We do involve our children and enjoy watching the people we support teaching our children that no one is different and that we all need help sometimes, disability or not we all need to learn and need help to navigate our world. I’m proud that our children will grow up without judgement and will help shape their generation to be caring; helpful; kind and live without the judgement and closed off opinions previous generations have. What I also enjoy is watching the implicit learning that occurs from such an innovative type of support. The people we support learn a lot about social norms from our children because we are inputting that information into our little people all the time, the people we support pick it up aswell. It’s a wonderful way to learn without even knowing you are learning. In summary AAY doesn’t operate the same as other organisations. My philosophies and approach to support is very different. We treat people as people, not participants, clients or people with disability but just people. This means that ‘old school’ professional boundaries are challenged, pushed and manoeuvred to suit whoever we are working with and what they are wanting to achieve and need assistance to achieve. I am very proud of AAY and all it’s workers/inner workings and it saddens me that sometimes the wider community don’t see what we do as providing opportunities for an ordinary life full of dignity of risk and choice and control. Stay tuned for the next AAY philosophy run down and please feel free to comment your own thoughts and feelings about different support styles and the changing landscape of this wonderful sector we are all involved in.

I’d like to thank each and everyone of them for one of the best weekends I have had in a very long time!!! Such gorgeous young men who I am very very proud of!!! Thanks everyone

05.01.2022 We have been spending time with this young man for almost 2 years now and after gaining some assistance from those in charge he has finally passed his P’s test!!! Well done mate!!!!!! And Thankyou to your support worker for assisting you along the way. This is brilliant news!!!!!!
