02.01.2022 One of the best times to visit Allendale Gardens is during October. The Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Tulips are at their best. One of the areas first establishes at the gardens was the Birch Walk. This part of the garden is regularly featured in garden magazines and books. The gardens have also featured on Burkes Backyard, Gardening Australia and Better Homes and Gardens. The pictures taken today tell the story. Bring your wives, husbands, girl fiends, boyfriends as well as t...he kids. The Birch Walk is the perfect backdrop for a romantic photo. If you are heading to the Wynyard Tulip Festival on October 12th(Bloomin Tulips Festival and Foreshore Market) then we hope you will head our way. http://www.warwyn.tas.gov.au/page.aspx?u=490 The Spring garden at Allendale Gardens is at its best when the Garden Spectacular at Highfield House being run on October 25th. https://www.facebook.com/events/1436407849972331/?ref_notif_type=plan_user_invited&source=1 We will open on the Sundays on these week-ends. Added interest in the area is the South Arthur Forest Drive which is in the process of being sealed. It is half complete. A great day is to visit Allendale Gardens and then head to Lake Chisholm and the Julius River Forest Reserve as well as many other areas to visit. Very beautiful short walks of about 45 minutes each. More here http://www.touringtasmania.info/milkshake_hills.htm We are on the road to the South Arthur Tarkine drives.
