24.01.2022 2020 is here, I hope everyone was able to enjoy some time with their loved ones over the holidays and I'm so excited for all the weddings I'll be shooting this year, it's going to be amazing! I captured so many incredible weddings in 2019 but was so busy that I didn't get around to sharing many of them. I'm finally putting together more weddings for the blog, here's the first. Alex and Josh put together the most beautiful inner city wedding, with a ceremony in Fitzroy Gardens and reception at a warehouse style brewery in Collingwood called The Craft and Co. They wanted a big celebration focused on their family and friends and the day did not disappoint. I recommend getting to the bottom because these dance floor shots are really something... https://allmywednesdays.com.au//alex-and-joshs-fitzroy-gar

24.01.2022 I have a new blog post up, this one isn’t a wedding but a list of some of my favourite wedding songs of all time! Music is so, so important. The songs we listen to become the soundtrack of our lives, they can create or carry so much emotion, help us to express ourselves and teach us about this weirdness that is life. That’s why if I ever get married I reckon the most important part of my day will be the playlist (don’t hold me to that I have like 1000 wedding dress pics saved on my phone and I’m not even in a relationship haha) and these are the songs I’d include on it. I added Youtube vids so it’s easy to check out each song, there will be stuff you know there for sure and hopefully something new to fall in love with. Here's the link: https://allmywednesdays.com.au//best-wedding-songs-of-all- Bon appetit

21.01.2022 Keri and Pete got hitched a while ago but revisiting this amazing day I really wanted to make an extra quick cut! Here’s 2mins of one of the funniest couples I’ve ever worked with, Pete made the best joke I’ve ever heard in a wedding speech and I am low-key probably going to steal it if I ever get married. Also check out Keri's stunning and unique colourful wedding dress! It was handmade by her mum Brenda who also made the cake. She was also super rowdy during speeches and on the dance floor, 11/10 mother of the bride! Love you Brenda. #weddingvideo #melbourneweddingvideo #melbournewedding #melbourneweddingvideographer #weddingvideographermelbourne #diyweddingdress #handmadeweddingdress #bridestyle #groomstyle

21.01.2022 I updated my website again (allmywednesdays.com.au for a peep) and I’m finally happy with it! With all this time off I’ve been working on background stuff like the website, updating my packaging, new album and print offerings, boring stuff like workflow and software optimisation, organising new equipment and just making everything work better behind the scenes. So, for all the couples whose weddings have been postponed, the silver lining (though a very minor one) is that you’...re going to get a new and upgraded version of my service! That’s something right!? Right?? 20.01.2022 Hayley and Aaron’s wedding day was the wettest that I’ve ever encountered, it was only weeks ago and at that time I believed that bad weather was the worst thing that might impact your wedding day. Now here we are and things are crazy right now, I hope everyone is doing ok. While we definitely need to accept the seriousness of the situation, in the words of Douglas Adams, ‘don’t panic’. There is going to be a butterfly effect of ways that lives will be affected by this pande...mic, all we can do is try to be prepared and take care of each other to the best of our ability, particularly our most vulnerable. I have no idea what the effect on weddings will be at its worst this year, but many people are already facing some difficult decisions. To my couples, if your wedding is coming up soon and you’re considering changing your plans, please get in touch to talk about options, I’ll do my best to take care of you under these unprecedented and extremely difficult circumstances. To my fellow photographers who are facing uncertainty and loss of income, take care of yourselves. Much love to all!

19.01.2022 Sophie and Adam got ready together and rocked up to their wedding in their huge badass four wheel drive (I wish I could just use the actual name but I don’t know a thing about cars). It was perfect for them. They love camping and fishing and being outdoors with their beautiful pup (who they road tripped interstate to adopt) and it was an awesome start to their wedding day. It really set the tone for the party to come and was perfectly them. #wedding #weddingphotographymelbourne #weddingphotographermelbourne #melbourneweddingphotographer #melbourneweddingphotography #melbournewedding #bride #groom #4wd #weddingute #weddingtruck #wildwedding #brideandgroom #melbournebride

18.01.2022 Half my struggle with posting wedding photos on social media is deciding whether or not to post the colour or the black and white. I LOVE colour, but I also LOVE black and white, so I always do both for my clients, make most colour and chuck in black and whites of similar photos. However, when it comes to posting them online I don’t want to post almost identical photos but I often can’t pick. Do you have a preference, black and white or colour?

16.01.2022 Lina is a lovely soul and a talented photographer, this is really kind advice.

15.01.2022 Without a ton of editing to get through I've been working hard on some new branding imagery, watch this space.

15.01.2022 Julia and James’ wedding is on the blog today, I had a bit of a rant about the awesome vendors I had the pleasure of working with on this one, spoiler - it was a really good day. "...sometimes you just want to rave about people who deserve to be raved about, and this wedding was full of excellent people, none more-so than Julia and James who brought us together and made us feel so valued and appreciated."

12.01.2022 Grooms don't get enough Instagram love. On Stephen's wedding day he was a father to be and now he's a wonderful dad. I have worked with a lot of expecting parents recently (well recent in terms of when I was still shooting haha) and it's always so exciting. Hashtag stay home and make babies??? Haha this got weird, sorry Stephen. #dapper #groom #groomstyle #soontobedad #groomswag #weddingphotographer #geelongwedding #gtbride #wedmegood #groomsmen #groomswithstyle #groominspiration #groomsuit #suitedup #weddingday

12.01.2022 Oh man things got crazy there for a moment, but for now all my weddings have been postponed until September or later, and I am so so hopeful that things will be much better by then and the show can go on. For now though I have a bit of editing left before I catch up on all the weddings from this past season, and then I'm going to go crazy blogging, updating my website and generally getting to all the to-dos that get pushed back for endless editing. Thank you so much to my lov...ely couples who mostly opted to postpone instead of cancelling their dates (only love to those who did have to cancel!), and worked with me to ensure I'd be available on their new one. This shot is from Paul and Kate's wedding which was on the last day of February, before any of us knew how quickly our lives could change. Stay positive and take care everyone, this is going to be challenging for all but for those like me who are lucky to not be vulnerable to the virus, this can also be a time of growth and patience. I'll be posting more frequently from now on. Love you all! See more

12.01.2022 How's everyone doing? It feels weird to be posting photos of happy couples from better days when this is so far from the reality right now, weddings as we know them can't go ahead. I've been really up and down, we had some bad family news which has highlighted one of the worst parts of this whole pandemic which is that you can't be there for people you love when they need it most, those who are sick are on their own and I can't think of anything worse. I'm such a baby when I'...m unwell, I just want love and attention and it's unbearable to think about all the families who never had a chance to be there or to say goodbye. But I'm going to keep posting these happy images because for those who are getting married soon or who had to postpone, weddings will be happening again eventually and you should stay excited about celebrating with those you love, it will be even more special when we're out of this. And for those who have had their wedding recently or a while ago, you should totally go through your wedding photos again, it will brighten up your day. This is from Jess and Corey's day in January, when we had nothing but love on our minds. #love #stayhome #staysafe #staypositive #weddingday #weddinginspo #gtbride #geelongbride #geelonggroom #thewarehouse #melbournewedding #australianwedding #citywedding #laneway #cantwait

12.01.2022 Oops, I think I made two posts to Facebook total in 2019. I’ve said this before but I love shooting and editing, it’s the sharing that doesn’t come naturally to me; but my goal for next year is to focus on this more. I’m planning to do more blog posts, both real weddings and some stuff I’ve picked up after shooting over 300 weddings and I’ll link to those from here because they get lost easily on my website. I’m very keen to do a post about my favourite wedding songs, and the...re are so many beautiful and unique weddings that I’ve shot this year with images that I’m in love with and want to share. This is the super low key Melbourne backyard wedding of Anastasia and Anthony. Usually when people get married in the backyard they’re out bush somewhere in a paddock or huge garden, this one was in the inner suburbs of Melbourne where the stunning home had only a small front garden and rear courtyard, the guests ate in the driveway and you have to see the photos to understand but it was absolutely beautiful. https://allmywednesdays.com.au//anastasia-and-anthony-low-

11.01.2022 Paul and his groomsmen, cool as cucumbers moments before Kate came down the aisle. This was such a relaxed wedding, with lots of beers and laughs and dancing, and remembering it gets me so excited for all the weddings to come now that restrictions are easing and numbers are looking positive! Well done Victoria, we're doing the thing.

11.01.2022 Ugh, this video makes me want to be back out there shooting weddings so so badly. And look how lovely the weather was! Euroa Butter Factory Anna Campbell Bridal Sydney Road Damon Hughes Marriage Celebrant... HAY BAX See more

09.01.2022 Recently I had the absolute pleasure of filming the wedding of fellow photographer Emily Howlett to her partner Riley who is also a photographer. I didn't stop smiling all day and I'm still beaming while I sort through their wedding day footage. Just check out this wild confetti throw, I've never seen anything like it. These two beautiful women know how to throw a party! (It does help that they've both probably been to hundreds of weddings between them.)

09.01.2022 This picture was taken in my favourite laneway in Melbourne, does anyone recognise it? I know a shitload of beautiful spots for photos around the city and in different suburbs and am always on the lookout for new and picturesque spots to take couples where they can relax in some good light and let me work my magic. It’s part of your photographer’s job to be able to guide you when it comes to ideal locations for portraits and it’s low-key one of the parts of my job that I pride myself on.

08.01.2022 Gemma and Nathan at dusk, beneath a big, beautiful gumtree, beside the ocean.

06.01.2022 Here’s that big secret I cruelly mentioned that I couldn’t tell you about! It’s not actually a big secret, sorry to disappoint, but I have started offering softcover magazine style albums to clients. These modern alternatives come at a much more affordable price point to their traditional hardcover counterpart (though those are handcrafted and extremely beautiful in their own right) and due to the nature of the softcover album, they include many more pages and therefore fit m...any more photos than hardcover albums! This means instead of choosing 60-80 of your favourite photos to tell the story of your wedding day you can choose up to 200. Aaaand there’s more, the major expense for these is the design and set up fee, meaning that after the first copy they halve in price and it is economical to buy extra copies for your family and maybe just to keep on a high shelf as a backup since these are less hardy than a hardcover album. In saying that though, these are well made and of a similar thick, matte, textured smooth paper to magazines like Hello May and Frankie, and personally I have a few well loved copies of those mags from years ago that still look absolutely beautiful. All information is available online here: https://allmywednesdays.com.au/softcoveralbum and I’ve popped a link in my bio. It doesn’t matter how long ago your wedding was, if you’re interested in ordering get in touch! (Please, I have nothing to do and I’m going broke) (not really I’m ok guys but I remember having an income and that was nice haha.) Also these babies are made in Australia by an environmentally conscious business, because that matters too! See more

06.01.2022 Currently working on a softcover photo book for Sam and Corey, so I thought I'd put together a little Instagram highlights real at the same time. This is one of my favourites from the day, and I'm putting together a real as well. In other news, weddings can resume with up to 10 people as of November 1st in metro Melbourne, which is a step in the right direction. We'll also be able to visit houses in groups of two, and have outdoor gatherings with our friends, and how great is it that the 5km radius has increased to 25kms!? It's been a long long lockdown, but so many lives have been saved and hopefully, with continued caution, we can keep moving towards a safe and unrestricted community!

04.01.2022 IMPORTANT + PERSONAL POST - Today is RUOK Day and frankly, if you live in Melbourne or in the world, right now, it’s entirely likely that you’re not ok. That’s understandable, and I hope everyone is able to access the support they need to take this day by day. I want to take this opportunity though to talk about something personal I’ve never mentioned here before. I have a condition called PMDD, it’s very unknown and under-researched despite the fact that it’s estimated that ...it affects 2-10% of women. That means that if you know 20 women, you probably know at least 1 woman who has PMDD and it’s likely she doesn’t know it, because, being a disorder that affects women, it was largely ignored until very recently and is still not fully understood. PMDD is thought to be a sensitivity to cyclical hormones which stunts normal serotonin production, causing symptoms such as depression, anxiety, tiredness, trouble focusing, panic attacks or mood swings, low energy and even suicidal thoughts. It is similar to PMS but lasts much longer, and is often misdiagnosed as depression. Recent research suggests that it may be hereditary. I take medication and am doing really well now, but for years I really struggled and didn’t know why, as I know many women are right now. All people need to know that this exists. You can go to iapmd.org/about-pmdd to learn more, I’m going to leave a link in my bio for the next few weeks. Take care everyone. #ruokday #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #womenshealth #pmdd #pmddawareness

04.01.2022 So relieved I can finally start shooting again! This shot is from a while ago, I met Han and Chris at a wedding I was filming and was stoked when they thought of me for their maternity photos. I have a few shoots coming up now that it's allowed, a maternity and newborn shoot for two couples whose weddings I shot (yay), and a few engagement shoots for couples whose weddings are yet to come. If you'd like your picture taken (sans mask, how exciting) or would like to gift someone special a family/couple shoot for Christmas, hit me up. I'm trigger happy again. Edit: Oh my god when I say sans mask I mean the the people being photographed, I will absolutely be wearing a mask - and keeping my distance - and offering hand sanitiser should you need it - and just generally being Covid-safe because it's still very important!

02.01.2022 Such incredible news on the weekend! After a long, long week, Trump loses the election and more importantly (haha) weddings in Victoria can have up to 100 people as soon as the end of November! I am so so excited for all my January and February weddings, things are looking great guys and I couldn't be more relieved for you all, it was so touch and go for so long. This image looks so much better without the crop so I'm going to post it to my story and put it on my website.

01.01.2022 I had a bunch of usual wedding related posts ready to go up but I’m putting a pause on my social media output so that we can spend time focusing on the massive protests in America and racial inequality in Australia at this important moment in history. I have learned so much through Instagram over the past few days and I want to leave room for more education and more calls to action. It’s so good to see IG being used so prevalently as a platform for change and education rather... than a medium for vanity, self-promotion and selling as it often can be. I’ll be sharing the posts that I find informative to my stories and I hope other people find them beneficial as well. This is not a political account, and I don’t want to just capitalise on an extremely serious issue while it is ’trending’, I will go back to posting wedding content eventually but right now it gives me hope to see my feed filled with content that educates us and contributes to systemic change and the lessening of inequality that plagues society. I hope that this eagerness to learn and to become better as a society continues to be a part of our daily lives until systemic racism is gone forever, I don’t know how we can get there so I will listen to those who can pave the way. Police abolition (sounds scary and uncomfortable but this is one of the things I encourage you to read about) and prison reform are steps in the right direction. See more

01.01.2022 Laura and Jesse’s amazing Art Deco styled wedding went live on the Polkadot Bride blog yesterday, here’s the link: https://www.polkadotbride.com//laura-jesses-painstakingly/ This one will always be a favourite of mine because Laura and Jesse are not only extremely lovely, they chose to create a day that was really unique and personal to them, and also it all took place less than 15mis from my house! Love love local. They did a first look under a beautiful old bridge over th...e Merri Creek, were married at Westgarth Cinema in front of the red curtain (both lovers of theatre and cinema!) by Laura’s sister Megan who is a stellar celebrant @meganjordancelebrant and was also a bridesmaid(!), had cocktails in the courtyard afterwards and then the reception at a stunning cafe, Little Henri in Thornbury, with lots of dancing and a beautifully intimate and warm atmosphere. Also there was a 92yo wedding crasher but you’ll have to read the blog for that story. #northsidewedding #weddingphotographymelbourne #weddingphotographermelbourne #melbourneweddingphotographer #melbourneweddingphotography #melbournewedding #bride #groom #groomstyle #artdeco #artdecowedding #fingerwaves #classicbeauty #brideandgroom #melbournebride #melbournegroom @ Westgarth Theatre
