23.01.2022 The M word. Mulching. Yes it's that time again. We urge you to take the time to spread sugar cane mulch over your garden beds to keep the ground moist during the hot months and help retain water during these long dry's. Remember to leave enough room around the base of your plants for the water to reach the roots though. This quick video is the best one we've found on how to mulch easily and properly.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIafE_3pxsI

21.01.2022 Playing under the hose is still fun on these sweltering days and encourages young ones to get outdoors. Plus, why not make a vege garden at the same time. Blake shows that you're never too young to become a green thumb

18.01.2022 We love this newer clumping bamboo. Its much more compact and heaps lower maintenance than the older chain varieties that take over everything.

18.01.2022 As we're a local, family business, we like to support other local family businesses that offer great service and prices. So, I'm going to start posting up my favourite small businesses for people to keep handy. The first one is Redlands Produce at Thornlands. These guys offer common sense, friendly advice about just about anything and their prices are really good too. Plus they have a galah that is a great conversationalist. :) http://www.redlandsproduce.com.au/

18.01.2022 Below is an example of the damage aphids can do. They are more active during the warmer months and can travel long distances on the wind. If they are causing significant damage, control may be advisable. Your local nursery can help you.

12.01.2022 A new project is taking shape. These bare steps, newly laid, will look completely different with a selection of annuals and perennials. These sun lovers will tolerate the sloping ground with sufficient watering so I'll need to keep an eye on them.

12.01.2022 I think we need this for the weekend!
