14.01.2022 UPDATE 18th March: Please see our update https://www.facebook.com/iiNet/posts/10154076745130972 UPDATE 17th March: Please see our update https://www.facebook.co...m/iiNet/posts/10154072088585972 UPDATE 15th March: Please see our update https://www.facebook.com/iiNet/posts/10154067118990972 UPDATE 13th March: Please see our update https://www.facebook.com/iiNet/posts/10154060569915972 Important notice for iiNet customers in Tasmania - Impending degradation of service for customers in Tasmania. Customers in Tasmania may be aware that the Basslink cable between Tasmania and Victoria failed last December, leaving the state unable to import or export power. This is in need of repair by Basslink. Part of this repair process by Basslink will involve taking the fibre-optic cables supplying telecommunications services to the region offline. During this repair process iiNet customers will experience a degraded service with capacity on the links that transfer telecommunication services to the region reduced. We have implemented an alternate solution for the duration of these repairs, however it is important to note this will provide limited capacity for iiNet customers. Impacted services will include all broadband services such as ADSL, Naked and NBN technologies. Customers that have Phone services with iiNet, including Naked DSL Netphone and NBN Enhanced Fibre phone, will also be impacted however mobile services should not be affected. Whilst iiNet is not in control of the repair process we are working with our provider to ensure updates are available on our website and social media pages throughout the repair process, once we understand the full extent of the impact we will also communicate with all of our customers regarding applicable downtime credits to their normal iiNet billing.
