22.01.2022 **NO KARATE CLASSES** Due to the extended COVID lockdown, there are no classes at the dojo, for the moment. We will post any updates here - hopefully it won't be too long till we are back.... In the meantime: Keep training! 21.01.2022 ALPINE DOJO AWARDS NIGHT! Porepunkah Riverside Park, Tuesday 8th December, starting at 6pm. A combined training session first, then presentations & BBQ tea. The dojo will supply the meat, bread, sauce etc & a soft drink for the students. Everything else is BYO and we ask that students bring a salad or sweet to share please. Families and friends welcome. 20.01.2022 **NO TRAINING, DUE TO COVID LOCKDOWN** The dojo is closed for now. We are back in lockdown, hopefully for only two weeks. Let's keep our energy high and get through this, so we can be back to training in the dojo soon. In the meantime, take time to practice at home. 19.01.2022 Thanks everyone who braved the rain and came to training. We totally understand those who thought it was too wet The hall verandah certainly came in handy for the first hour and then the oval was actually great for training, if a little damp underfoot. Here is Jilly providing proof that it was actually really nice out there.... Let's hope we get some good news regarding COVIDsafe restrictions, over the weekend - we will of course update you as we know more. We look forward to seeing more of you all next week! Osu!

18.01.2022 Well done to our small band of Juniors on their grading today. Great spirit from all of you. Results will be announced at our Alpine Awards Night at the park next Tuesday. In the meantime, be proud of your efforts. We most certainly are! ... Osu!

18.01.2022 **NO CLASSES MONDAY & TUESDAY** Due to the current COVID lockdown there won't be any karate classes in Myrtleford or Bright this week. Fingers crossed we will be back for Thursday classes at Porepunkah, once lockdown is finished. Updates will be posted here. We have done this before and we will get through this again! 12.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that our Winter Training will proceed, as planned. Currently, there are no restrictions on regional travel, and COVID pre-tests are not mandatory for Mt Buffalo. However regrettably, and respectfully we ask that residents from the Melbourne Metropolitan area who are still in lockdown, please do not attend. At the minute, ID and licenses are being checked on the road to the snowfields. Of course, if restrictions are lifted, you will all be more than ...welcome. Our Saturday training will run under the current COVID restrictions regarding density & social distancing. Attendees will need to sign in at Porepunkah dojo on the day. Please wear face masks to the dojo. Spectators will be restricted to parents, guardians and carers. Thank you to all who have registered your training & dining numbers. 06.01.2022 2021 TRAINING TIMES & CLASSES Normal classes resume: Tuesday 2nd February 2021 TUESDAYS - Bright Sports Centre,... 47 Gavan St Bright: (Entry via Rear door) 6.00pm 7.30pm Seniors & Juniors This is primarily a class for Adult beginners & graded students. However, experienced Junior students are also very welcome and should attend if they want to progress in karate. THURSDAYS - Porepunkah Community Hall, Martley St Porepunkah: (Entry via Side Door) 5.00pm 5.45pm 5-9 year olds This class is a fun way to learn the basics of karate and some discipline and control. We offer a badge system to reward progress and to get students ready for the Junior Class. 5.50pm 6.50pm Juniors 10 - 14 years, beginners & graded students. 7.00pm 8.30pm Seniors Adult beginners & graded students. So everyone is welcome at class. BUT: There are only 10 allowed at the Bright Sports Centre - so please RSVP for Tuesdays ASAP on our Alpine Dojo Chat. First to book gets a place. 05.01.2022 ** CHANGE TO ALPINE WINTER TRAINING WEEKEND** Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation in Victoria and increasing public concern regarding large group activities, regretfully we must make changes to this weekend's training. As always the welfare of our students, families and our wider karate community is our primary concern. In line with the best advice from governing bodies, the changes are:... 1. Saturday 21 August afternoon training at Porepunkah Hall: will be held outside on the adjacent oval, at 2pm, weather permitting. We will no longer be inside, though the hall toilets will be accessible. You are welcome to wear trainers and a hat if necessary. 2. Saturday 21 August evening Sayonara dinner: CANCELLED. We sincerely apologise, but a group event which can be seen as a social gathering is not advisable. 3. Sunday 22 August snow training: will still go ahead, weather permitting. We will meet up on Mount Buffalo at the Dingo Dell day shelter at 10am. Please check conditions before coming up the mountain and be sure to carry chains. We apologise sincerely for any inconvenience this may cause our students and visitors. We look forward to a future where we can all get together with our fellow karateka, as we always have. 03.01.2022 **DONE & READY TO GO** Sensei Geoff & Sensei Sue are now both fully vaccinated against COVID-19. (In case you were wondering...) Another COVID-Safe step towards getting us all back in the dojo.... Keep up the home training and we will see you on the other side. Osu!

02.01.2022 *WE ARE BACK FOR TERM 4* Classes resume at normal times this week, for all age groups, at our Myrtleford, Bright & Porepunkah dojos. COVID SAFE We follow current regulations, which means we need to limit some class numbers and may ask students to RSVP in advance. ... For the moment there are no spectators. At the Dojo please arrive on time, follow directions, the usual COVID Safe practices and wear a mask to class (adults and older kids). If you are unwell, please stay home. TERM 4 FEES - REDUCED! Term 4 fees will be reduced by 50% in recognition of the classes lost due to lockdown last term - please pay HALF of the usual Term fee as soon as possible. Paid-up students get priority when it comes to limited class numbers, so you don't want to miss out. CHANGES We are keen to keep training together as much as we can. So things can change at short notice: we will switch a class venue, time and take it to the park if necessary! KEEP CHECKING HERE FOR UPDATES!
