22.01.2022 Corned Silverside.......it is a winter wonder and if its not one of your weekly staples it should be!!! So easy, especially if you have a slow cooker...... just set in the morning and forget!!! Enjoy this with the whole family. This recipe is for a slow cooker, but could also be adapted for the stove top, just not for as long, start on high heat, bring to boil, then reduce heat to low & cook for approx 1.5 hours until firm but tender, but if you have a slow cooker use recip...e . CORNED SILVERSIDE 1.5KG Approx - Corned silverside 3 Bay leaves - fresh or dried 12 Peppercorns 6 Cloves CUP (80ML) Malt vinegar CUP (90G) Brown sugar 6 Little onions METHOD Place the beef in your slow cooker. Add the bay leaves, peppercorns, cloves, vinegar, sugar, onions and enough water to cover. Follow instructions of your cooker, normally high cooking for 4 hours or low cooking for 6-8 hours or until beef is tender. Use a slotted spoon to occasionally skim the foam from the surface. Lauren came to Alps over 5 years ago as a young, injured, lost athlete who’s dreams were fading and she was unsure what her future held for her. So after taking some time out from her athletic career and getting a little bit of normality in her life at Alps ( well as normal as it gets around here ) She dared to dream again!!! She got a fire in her be...lly & her passion back. It has been a pleasure to watch her work hard to slowly gain strength & confidence in herself & her abilities again. This is a testament that hard work pays off. So today we said goodbye as she was accepted into the Australian Cycling Team program in Adelaide We can’t wait to see we’re this journey takes her, but know she will grasp this opportunity with both hands.......
