14.01.2022 Last week Donna from our Kinder visited the residents of Estia Health and dropped off some letters from the children, they were so thankful. In return we received some letters from the residents and also some knitted squares for our yarn bomb tree. The residents are looking forward to when our kinder kids can visit again.

11.01.2022 Meet Grace. Grace is a newbie to Altona Kindergarten this year, and is so happy and excited she has decided to wear her uniform on a non kinder day . As the kids complete their first full week at kinder for 2020, we can already see that it’s going to be a great year full on fun, learning, adventure and new friendships. ... Next week sees the first parent committee meeting, and we are looking forward to planning some community events. Have a great weekend.

09.01.2022 In challenging and uncertain times, we are keeping our spirits bright. We have joined in the Rainbow Trail and the children have put their own rainbows on our front fence. We have also joined the neighbourhood bear hunt. Come find our teddy in the window on your hunt . This week ends term one. Have a great break and see you all back soon

08.01.2022 OUR GUMTREE YARN BOMBING PROJECT This monumental gumtree has been standing gloriously here at Altona Kindergarten, watching over our children playing, learning and growing for many many years. It has been a big part of our kindergarten but we had to say goodbye to all the gorgeous branches and leaves, which provided us wonderful shades as well as being a shelter to our local wild animals. We were devastated and shattered to let them go and we are still very sad looking at it ...so cold and lonely. So our lovely educators came up with this fabulous idea of ‘Yarn Bombing’ our gumtree! Yarn bombing is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colourful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or chalk. To show our appreciation to our feature tree, we are asking for your support and involvement by creating a patch of knitted yarn to give our gumtree warmth and comfort with our colours of love. The patch can be a square or rectangular shape in any sizes and with any colours. We will connect them all together when we have a collection of them to cover the tree. Please join us to show our strong love and connection to our kindergarten and our tree and to bring back its spirit. Knitting can be dropped off Monday to Friday. Please ring the door bell and we can collect from you.
