15.01.2022 Dear friends and members *EXCITING NEWS -A SIX WEEK SUMMER COMPETITION FOR BOYS AND GIRLS IS BEING PLANNED BY LACROSSE VICTORIA AT THE ALTONA GROUNDS* But we need to respond to Lacrosse Victoria by COB on this Thursday 05-November if we are entering teams. With the relaxation of the Covid 19 restrictions relating to junior sports, Lacrosse Victoria is hoping to start a six-week competition on Altona's grounds starting 14 November - 19 December. The suggested age groups are:... U19s: Anyone born on or after 01/01/2002 U16s: Anyone born on or after 01/01/2005 U13s: Anyone born on or after 01/01/2008 U11s: Anyone born on or after 01/01/2010 Given the short time frame, if you are interested please send details of what team you are interested in (based on the above age groupings). We will play boys and girls in our mixed Under 11 and Under 13 sides on Saturday but if we have enough interest we would also look at putting in a girls side only for the Sunday competitions as well. New players for all age groups would be most welcome and if we get the numbers, we will run some training sessions in the week prior to the start of competition and continue training on Tuesday and/or Thursday every week through the competition. If anyone is interested in playing, please email the [email protected] ASAP so we can put together teams. For girls, please put down if you are interested in Sunday games as well. I expect all competitions will be non-contact. For seniors please indicate if you are interested in coaching any of our teams (you will need to have a Working with Children Check). If parents are interested in learning about coaching, we will be happy to place you with an experienced coach. Umpires may also be asked for and I expect there may be some payment from Lacrosse Victoria but the details are not yet available. See more
