22.01.2022 A post post! As part of Culley Road Vineyards organic conversion we have undertaken the big project of replacing all our broken CCA treated pine posts with organic friendly steel posts. CCA treated posts leach heavy metals into the soil but these shiny new galvanised steel posts are stronger, longer lasting and better for the environment! They are also 100% recyclable unlike treated pine post which can only go to landfill.

19.01.2022 A bit of colour starting to show in our Culley Road Shiraz. This process is known as Veraison, where red grapes begin to change colour and both red and white varieties begin to accumulate sugars and degrade acids. 07.01.2022 I made something! Its a hole in the ground, lined with bricks and filled with the poo of a lactating cow from an organic farm. Seriously. This is a #biodynamic preparation known as #cowpatpit it helps build quality soil by stimulating micro flora. This will stay here covered up until late spring when it will have broken down into lovely #humus that Ill mix with water and spray on the vineyard. Were not certified biodynamic here at #culleyroadwine but we are organic and Ive been using a few biodynamic preparations over the last year to learn more about it. #altschwagerkenneallywines #organic #organicwine #mclarenvalewine

07.01.2022 We get a lot of great feedback from you guys saying you love the labels of our Tapi, Carpenter Rocks and Culley Road wines. Each label has a bit of a back story and this is Carpenter Rocks.... Did you know Carpenter Rocks is a small coastal town in SAs South East? The ship wreck that features on our label is the SS Admella. Back in the 1800s the Admella transported passengers and freight between Adelai...de, Melbourne and Launceston and is named after its route (AD - Adelaide/ MEL - Melbourne / LA - Launceston). However, in the early hours of Saturday 6th August 1859 the Admella shipwrecked on the submerged reef off the coast of Carpenter Rocks taking 89 lives with it. If you look closely on the Carpenter Rocks label youll see the name ADMELLA across the stern of the ship. The reef she wrecked on is the same rocks that head inland and form the underlying geology of the vineyard we source the Carpenter Rocks fruit from. We have 3 varieties in the Carpenter Rock range - Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir.
