07.01.2022 Expressions of Interest - VET Trainers In preparation for 2021 Middle Years and Seniors Pathway into VET (Vocational Education and Training) courses, Alyangula Area School has applied for an Embedded Trainer Program Grant. What is an Embedded Trainer Program? ... A program that can be delivered all year to students 12 years and over to offer pre-VET and VET courses around Kitchen operations, food processing, baking and other relevant courses for maximum utilisation of our current commercial kitchen at Alyangula Area School. To implement this program, we are seeking expressions of interest from parents and community members who have the following criteria: Criteria: 1. Holds Chef trade qualifications (Relevant industry/trade or Certificate III qualification e.g. Certificate III Commercial Cookery) 2. Recent chef experience (e.g has worked in the industry within the last 12 months and has over 3-4 years experience in this area) 3. Valid TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willing to complete upgrade. 4. Preferably has some experience training and assessing. 5. Working with Children’s Clearance or the ability to obtain one This is a paid position and can have flexibility with hours of delivery. 02.01.2022 Just a quick reminder to Families. The Halloween Disco will be on the 29th of October in the Multipurpose Room. This is a parent run event, so if anyone is able to volunteer some of their time to help out, please comment below or call or email the front office. A big thank you to those who have already offered their time. Without volunteers, we wont be able to go ahead with the disco. Thank you!

02.01.2022 A quick message from the Department of Education: Dear Families This morning, the Northern Territory Chief Health Officer declared South Australia a hotspot, effective immediately. Refer to Northern Territory Government Coronavirus website for the latest updates - https://coronavirus.nt.gov.au//quarantine/hotspots-covid-19 The advice issued by NT Health following the announcement is below, and affects students and staff currently in South Australia, those planning to trave...l there, as well as those who have returned from there in the last 14 days. Please note that anyone who is returning from South Australia will be required to undertake mandatory quarantine. Individuals who arrive from South Australia on Monday 16 or Tuesday 17 November will not be required to pay the $2500 mandatory quarantine cost. The advice from the NT Department of Health is below: If you have or your child has travelled to South Australia in the last 14 days, the above advice needs to be followed. Please note that no further action needs to be taken by schools at this stage. If further action does need to be taken, this will be communicated by the Northern Territory Chief Health Officer. This is a timely reminder to ensure that we continue to be vigilant in practising good health and hygiene processes.
