23.01.2022 So this is kind of amazing! Repost from @deva_cacao We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we have won an Accolade in the Packaging Design section of the Good Design Awards! A huge shoutout to @alykatcreative who worked tirelessly with us over ten months to create these beautiful new (and now award winning! ) designs and helped us to achieve the release of our #compostable and bloody good looking packaging. .... . #compostablepackaging #buyfromthebush #australiandesigners #australiandesignawards #buyaussiemade #coffscoast #coffscoastnsw #coffscoastcreatives #artsmnc #packagingdesign #boutiquedesign #boutiquechocolate #coffsbeat #focusmag #smallbusinessesworkingtogether #graphicdesign #illustrationanddesign See more

18.01.2022 In between working on freelance design projects and running Alykat Creative Gallery & Studio, I've been fortunate to work closely with Indigenous communities in both Kempsey and now Macksville and Bowraville areas in creating something so meaningful. Also learning a lot about the people and families in these communities and I'm grateful to be a part of such a special project, great work TAFE NSW for getting it up and running. Last day in Macksville tomorrow finishing up with the current group

17.01.2022 I’ve had some enquiries on this happy guy coz my stock levels are a bit out of whack on my poor neglected website as it undergoes a long overdue facelift in-line with my studio and gallery space opening soon! So at the moment I just have the one A3 limited edition fine art print in stock, but am having a big restock in a few weeks and you can also order the fine art prints in any size of any design with a super quick turn around when you order. Best just to shoot me a message or email for orders at the mo. Can not wait to be organised and have lots of pretty things for you all to easily get your hands on

16.01.2022 When freelance concepts don’t quite line up with what the client envisages, it’s not all bad, means I get to use this little guy for myself Watch this Willy Wagtail space

14.01.2022 I think I just met the nicest customer to walk the shores of Coffs Harbour. Visiting from Sydney and wanting to buy his wife some art for her birthday while in ...transit and support a local artist at the same time he somehow found me down the laneway even while my sign still isn’t ready (thanks Google!) After browsing the walls he confidently pointed to one of my original pen drawings which had one of the highest price tags in the gallery, and is also one of my long time personal favourites from 2013, Zebra mum and her baby foal running together They went on to be apart of the Escape from the Circus series released later that same year and feature in the finished piece titled, The Camouflaged Escape. This is why we need to promote the arts and our creative community to the rest of the state and the country, city folk enjoy an escape to the coast and supporting their regional neighbours. Hoping for many more lovely visitors and customers from out of town to come and appreciate the growing awesomeness that Coffs has to offer

13.01.2022 Listening to @declanbyrneee on Triple J’s Home and Hosed program last night, celebrating the amazing musicians who have come to Australia as refugees, fleeing their home country due to war and civil unrest, I hope finding a better life here. They have whole lives before seeking asylum, they have stories of their experiences, it was so powerful to hear from their own view and voice in what was some sick arse music. Massive love to triple j.... Since it’s World Refugee Week and all, I want to spread the love to the local guys at Sanctuary Australia Foundation doing great things here on the Coffs Coast supporting and reuniting refugee families, helping to find work and rebuild their lives. We can all help by just being decent humans

12.01.2022 I don’t even know how to announce this because it’s such a big dream of mine to one day have my own Alykat shop and gallery and... I think I’m doing it. No no, I’m doing it. The lease is signed, it’s happening This weekend I finally started clearing out and taking over the space where Planet Art once was, and have such wonderful people helping me to transform this little laneway pocket into a whimsical world of Alykat Creative. Hmm that might make for a cool shop name Watch this space come to life over the next couple of months. There is so much to do and I’m so freaking excited

11.01.2022 Little did I know that when this photo was taken at the Opening of Screenwave's 2020 SWIFF Film Festival earlier this year, that my facial expression would be even more fitting to this next bit of news about that very event!! I'm suuuuper stoked to be invited to create the main cover artwork for the 2021 festival and get to collaborate with the lovely SWIFF folk and mingle with some like minded creatives in the area. Deets still to come, but feels like a nice project to sink... my teeth into and keep building on the local love ( And the trees photography) See more

08.01.2022 It’s happening, slowly but surely! Thanks for all of the shared enthusiasm. It’s getting there, lots more to come over the next few weeks. It’s show time, baby!!! *Credit Note: I’m totally posing as if I painted any of that awesome colour gradient backdrop, but that’s all thanks to super star Mr Geoff Kassulke’s creative talents, birds to come

07.01.2022 So these just landed! Locally made, three layered masks. I wore a crappy generic one the other day and it was so uncomfortable and stuffy, so I’m so happy with @up.sidesunny’s fine detail and shape Only have 15 adult Rainbow Lorikeets, 4 adult Flamin Galahs, and 3 kids size Flamin Galahs. Then that’s it. If you guys love them then I might make some more. I’ll be at the Coffs Made With Love Markets on Sunday for the locals and the rest of the world just shoot me a message ...if you’d like to buy one. $20 each + postage. Bit more than average Joe, but that’s the price for handmade local, unique and quality goods my friends Never thought I’d be posting a bunch of weird selfies wearing a mask, but hey, welcome to 2020

06.01.2022 It was so nice to hear from The Great Koala National Park this week and learn about their proposed koala reserve in the Coffs Hinterland which will give our dwindling koala population the habitat they need to thrive again. There’s lots more info on their website and FB page. I was happy to make a free colouring in download for anyone wanting to get the pencils or watercolours out with the fam over the weekend Includes proper Alykat sourced facts like Big nose, for incre...dible smell and perfect Eskimo kisses. Enjoy

05.01.2022 Oh man, what a roller coaster All the feels for my second home in Melbourne where so much creativity usually thrives. To then being notified that my designs for Deva Cacao are one of six finalists in the Design category of my favourite magazine’s Good Stuff awards! I’m so chuffed because I know how high Frankie Magazine's standards are, so this is a big one for me There’s a fancy pants industry judge’s award, as well as an overall people’s choice! Both winners will rece...ive a feature in Frankie, and a one-on-one mentoring session with their relevant judge, in my case, the amazing Beci Orpin Starting my dream design studio and gallery on a next to nothing budget right now (and a next to nothing clue!), where I’ll be relying on word of mouth for exposure...this would be an amazing opportunity and some much needed guidance at the right time in the right place So if you’re not sure what to get me for my birthday this week... it only takes a sec to vote for my entry here https://www.frankie.com.au//alyson-pearson-deva-cacao-26-1 and it'll be the best gift you can get and it ain’t gonna cost you a cent!!! #frankiemagazine #goodstuffawards2020

05.01.2022 A little insider information for you, for some reason I find blue biro’s are just better to draw with So a lot of my drawings actually start out blue, but thanks to Photoshop, they end up black, making them a lot more versatile to design with These mint leaves and stems were the first ingredient I drew for the new Deva Cacao packaging designs. If you haven’t already, we’d love your vote for the Frankie Magazine Good Stuff people’s choice award, it literally only t...akes a few seconds to cast your vote, link is https://www.frankie.com.au//alyson-pearson-deva-cacao-26-1. Thanks a big fat bunch (of mint)!!

05.01.2022 A little behind the scenes as to how this gorgeous Mandarin + Sea Salt design came together for the folks at Deva Cacao. I reckon this design - and it’s flavour - can get overlooked due to its elegant subtlety, but it was soon a fave of mine and you guys seem to like it too

03.01.2022 I’ve been crazy busy with a few exciting things happening behind the scenes at Alykat HQ lately, (which you’ll hear all about very soon) but it’s meant I haven’t had the time and mental creative capacity to start my new series. BUT don’t worry, I’m dyyying to get it out of my head, and am so excited about that! In the meantime I thought I’d share some old school Alykat! A mish-mash of my 2013 Animal Series. Before I fell extra in love with Australian animals, I just loved drawings all animals
