25.01.2022 Zambrero is almost here! It was great to visit Jeremy and the team today ahead of the Byford store's grand opening next week. As you can see, they have a great attitude and are ready to go. I was pleased to learn that 14 new local jobs have been created thanks to the opening of this business, which is fantastic news for our community

25.01.2022 WHITBY COMMUNITY MEETING | Great to catch-up with some of the local Whitby residents the other night to provide an update about the proposed emergency entry/exit road, improving telecommunications in the local area, reducing crime and improving local transport options. Stay tuned for future opportunities to catch-up with me in the community and have your say about the important matters in your area.

24.01.2022 Great to have Liza Harvey in Mundijong to catch up with the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale. The number one issue the Shire raised is the same I hear from residents coming through my door every week - the state of our local roads! I have been advocating for these local roads to be fixed and the Shire has a plan to do it, but we need the State Government to support these important works and assist with the funding. ... Liza and I were also proud to reinforce our commitment to local projects like the Keirnan Park Recreation Precinct and Byford Splash Park.

24.01.2022 I was delighted to welcome the Shadow Health Minister, Zak Kirkup MP back to Darling Range yesterday to visit the Serpentine Falls Park Home & Tourist Village. 24.01.2022 Tonight we celebrated Australian Citizenship Day by welcoming our new local Aussie Citizens at the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale ceremony. Australia is one of the most culturally diverse nations in the world. We have welcomed more than five million new citizens to our shores since 1949. I hold the values of Australian citizenship dear to my heartrespect for the freedom and dignity of others, equality and a fair go for all.... Congratulations to all our new citizens who celebrated tonight.

23.01.2022 Improving community safety is a priority for me and although there are often complex solutions required to tackle this important issue, sometimes it's really simple. This week, I took Liza Harvey to meet with John, a Byford local, who showed us the laneway connecting Warburton Court to our local shopping precinct. John told us that lots of locals use the lane during the day, but they're becoming concerned by the lack of lighting and passive surveillance at night, which can lead to anti-social behaviour and illegal dumping. John asked us to help him get two lights installed to increase the safety of the lane and I'm pleased to say that we're more than happy to help! https://www.alyssahayden.com.au//hayden-will-deliver-safer

Happy Fathers Day to all the amazing Dads #HappyFathersDay2020

20.01.2022 As Early Voting draws to a close today, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me over the past few weeks. Thank you Darling Range

20.01.2022 This week I joined our courageous local women and men when they rallied at Parliament House to protect the Jarrah Forrest around Jarrahdale. It’s vital that our community voice is heard, as your local State Parliamentary representative, and as promised, when you put your faith in electing me, I continue to promote and elevate your voice at the highest level.

19.01.2022 After a number of calls into my office, Ill be holding a Street meeting to discuss the plans for the Byford Rail. Right now Im out letterboxing your invitation to join me. 6pm Thursday 10 September on Thomas Rd near the rail crossing.

19.01.2022 Following many meetings Ive had with the Shire, local businesses and local residents, Im pleased to see that Byford Rail is one step closer. The location has been finalised and will be behind the Coles as part of a new town centre development. Although its great to have some certainty about the location, we need to make sure the station is done right. This includes ensuring we have proper security measures and a strong police presence. I understand that local residents and businesses also still have a lot of questions. A series of information sessions will be held at Byford Hall between 9am and 12pm on Saturday 12 September and I encourage you to attend. 19.01.2022 The Shadow Minister for Police and Road Safety, Peter Katsambanis - Liberal Member for Hillarys, joined me on a recent Law and Order Blitz of the electorate! Peter and I attended a couple of local Law and Order Forums at the Roleystone Karagullen Seniors Club and at Briggs Park Pavilion, as well as a Small Business catch-up at The Strand Byford - Lakeside Restaurant & Café where we heard from concerned local business owners about the levels of crime in our area. Our community... requires more police and greater levels of investment to protect families and local businesses. Thanks to everyone who participated in the forums and for sharing your ideas about how we can reduce crime! I have recently started an online crime petition to fight for more local police in our community. You can sign my petition here: https://www.petition.org.au/darlingrangepolice/

18.01.2022 This Sunday the communities of Darling Downs and Byford will be presenting me with their petition calling on the State Government to delay this rushed project and to engage with the local community. The current design for the Thomas Road Bridge over rail project will have an adverse affect on local homes, roads and the Marri Grove and Byford Primary School communities. You are invited to join me and your neighbours at 10am for this presentation. There will be time for you t...o sign the petition if you have not already done so, or to bring your signed copies with you. This is your opportunity to send a clear message to the State Government that our community will not stand by and be ignored. I will be proudly tabling your petition in Parliament next week so your voice is heard.

18.01.2022 Following my visit to Eton Farm Primary School prior to Christmas, it was great to catch up with Stacey Manning from the Fundraising Committee today. After a successful first year, the school is looking to grow and attract more students. Eton Park PS is undertaking works on improving their playground and building a bike track. As part of this project, they are looking to add some trikes to keep the kids busy during their breaks and I was very pleased to be able to make a donation towards this fun activity for the kids! Trust you are all enjoying the school break and enjoy these trikes when you’re back at school!

17.01.2022 From paddock to plate COVID-19 has been tough for small business, but its also presented an opportunity to innovate. It was great to invite Liza Harvey to come with me to The Byford Tavern to show her how John and his team pivoted from a focus on dine-in to accommodating take-away and drive-thru meat sales at the height of the pandemic restrictions. The meat comes straight from the paddocks at Melaleukas farm in North Dandalup.

15.01.2022 It was a great turnout at Mundijong Centrals Netball Ladies Day today watching the nippers through to the Seniors. Well done to all the ladies for a great event. 13.01.2022 Fantastic news for local community kindergartens! Community kindergartens will be able to access more funding under a Liberal Government thanks to a commitment to overturn changes brought in by the Labor Government. The current government increased the enrolment threshold from 10 to 16 students to access staff and grant funding. Although there have been exemptions granted, these are only done each year on a case-by-case basis, meaning our kindies have no certainty. ... We'll remove this uncertainty and revert the enrolment threshold back to 10 students, removing stress from our dedicated volunteers. It was great to be joined by Liza Harvey to make this important announcement at Byford Community Kindergarten. https://www.alyssahayden.com.au//funding-security-for-comm

02.01.2022 As restrictions have eased, we can now enjoy a footy match at the Stadium and celebrations at Ascot for the Melbourne Cup, however the restrictions for our places of worship remain in place. During the peak of the pandemic, our community came together like no other. A group that has taken on a heavy load, are our church communities. Volunteers across Darling Range and the State have fed, housed, and supported so many who have found themselves in need for the very first time. So I asked a simple question in Parliament to understand when the 2sqm rule will be lifted for our churches and places of worship as they have been for our theatres and cinemas.

02.01.2022 Today I caught up with Ray from Byford Venom Futsal Club, El from Pro Futsal and Ruben Zandman - Liberal for Southern River to discuss the potential of this very popular and fast growing sport.
