22.01.2022 Easels Down! Packing Up My Art Studio! The Big Move is getting closer, my Sydney studio is officially closed now. 1.5 weeks till we move and boy do I have some packing to do + framing and finishing off another commission begore we move. I've never been so excited before about a move, this one is going to be great, just feel it in my bones. The ocean is calling and one must not ignore it.... So looking forward to buying our next home and yes it will have studio attached or a granny flat etc to turn it into my new art space. It needs to be much larger than this space, I'm going large, really large with my pieces as soon as we settle. I've thoroughly enjoyed this space, it started my art career after all but it's time to move. Sometimes I paint two pieces and see which piece the client is drawn to the most. Both on different substrates, this is one of those occasions. Here is the first layer. ... I use a concoction of primers, I've found the perfect way to seal the canvas and make it non porous and it helps with the intensity of the inks. I simply love getting messy in my studio.... These next couple of weeks I'm working on a few commissions for my new art collectors. There's something wonderful about doing commissions, the brief is specified and you paint to the descriptions discussed but still incorporate your own style to the art work.
