25.01.2022 I love and approve of myself. I am at peace with the flow of life. Its been a few heavy days in my brain fam, Ive had weddings cancel, had to heart wrenchingly cancel on weddings I had planned in Victoria and Im in the throngs of trying to get back to Scotland, waiting to hear if Im approved to leave the country or not. ... My brain keeps wanting to dive into negative state and Im battling it tooth and nail each day to try and flip it. Yes I allow myself to be upset and process but I have a tendency to spiral, so for me, sad needs a time limit and thats where these new mantras come into place. I love and approve of myself and I am at peace with the flow of life. The only thing we can control is our attitude toward a situation. Whilst I dont believe in bypassing our negative emotions (we gotta feel that shit to process it) as I said before, I have a tendency to wallow and thats just not the kinda gal I want to be. I love and approve of myself and I am at peace with the flow of life. I give myself grace and patience and understand that my frustrations toward myself about not being able to be positive, is actually making it MORE difficult to get into flow state and relaxation. The more I love and accept myself, the easier it is to glide down the river rather than fight it upstream. I know a lot of you are feeling this same struggle and I want you to know that youre not alone. Mantras seem to be working for me and I encourage you to give them a try. Anytime an untrue thought pops up (usually a negative one) interuppt it with something more gentle. I love and approve of myself and I am at peace with the flow of life. 25.01.2022 Buckle in kids cause its time for a body pep talk. I always forget how much of a response I get whenever I share body love or self acceptance stuff on my feed but it always seems to resonate with you guys! I shared on my stories today all about why you should throw your underwear away (go watch for context) and so many of you responded thanking me for normalising weight fluctuation in women. Now listen here ladies (and fellas) I still have a butt tonne of body hang ups a...nd I work on them (almost) every day. I practice affirmations, I just started a flexible meal plan again and I work really hard to constantly remind myself that our bodies, just like the seasons, will change constantly. We will be smaller, bigger, fitter, healthier, squishier and all kinds of things over the course of our lives. So theres no point in looking back and wishing you looked the same as you did at 16 (genetically impossible btw) the aim of the game is to accept where we are at, and if you dont like something, change it. As I said, Im not perfect, in fact I saw some photos of myself recently and literally cried because my jawline is a bit smooshier than it used to be. But then I have days where the lighting is right and I find a wicked bikini and think ya know, youre a bit of a babe! My energy toward myself ebbs and flows and this journey with my body is an everlasting one, but the one affirmation thats really sticking with me at the moment is to be gentle with the current season my body is in. She had undergone a lot of stress these last few months, so even if she is a bit squishier, she is breathing, her heart is beating and her number 1 goal is to keep me alive - and shes doing a damn good job of that Accept change, go with the flow of the seasons, be gentle with yourself and remember that your body is ALWAYS looking out for you xx See more

24.01.2022 GO AFTER YOUR DREAMS HONEY BUNNY Not only was yesterday a badass pinup shoot (seriously considering adding these to my repertoire!) but it was full of soulful chats with likeminded babes all about manifesting the life of our dreams! This babin bunny and I are two peas in a pod and we could waffle about manifestation for YONKS! And something crasszzzyyyyy happens when you surround yourself with like minded people - you end up in the vortex! 23.01.2022 WHAT ARE YOU HOLDING YOURSELF BACK FROM?! The most common reason why people don’t book into courses / work with coaches / go on holidays / treat themselves to nice things...is because of money. But hear me out. If you own a business / side hustle (or want to) and you’re not prepared to spend money on growing yourself and the hustle... why would anyone else wanna spend money on you?... You hire a photographer because they’ve spent money on themselves buying kit / learning how to take a photo. You hire a web designer because they’ve invested time and money into learning how to build websites. You wouldn’t wanna invest money into services that you thought couldn’t provide you with what you needed - right? So drop the excuses, remember that you can ALWAYS make more money, and just invest in yourself, alright? Comment with a if you’re ready to back yourself the fuck up this year in one way or another!

22.01.2022 I really want to learn to play the violin. Do you know what the first thing people Usually say to me when I mention that? Oh violin is soo hard or itll take you ages to get good at that ... To which I think to myself a few things... 1. If we say something is hard, we make it hard. Anything can be difficult if we THINK it is 2. This feedback is usually coming from people who definitely dont play the violin or any instrument for that matter 3. Yep it probably will take ages but once again, mindset and also, time is passing anyway mate, what difference does it make? May as well learn the violin - no time like the present! It occurred to me that so many people live their lives with this mentality. Its too hard so I wont try / itll take too long so I wont bother / Im too old to do that and once again, all of those things are true if you believe them to be so. Whether you think you can or you cant, youre right! Your mind is a powerful thing my friend. Also, instead of being the guy who responds to peoples dreams and aspirations with yeah buts how about ask follow up questions? Thats so cool! Have you ever tried before? Or wow, what makes you want to give that a go? Start normalising and supporting peoples goals and dreams rather than shitting on them. Because the reality is, people who feel the need to comment negatively on your dreams are usually triggered by your desire for action and their lack of motivation to do the same - whether it be learn the violin / take up pole dancing / starting a side hustle! The point of this post is I wanna learn violin whether yall think its hard / takes forever. It was a day not without its trials, when we arrived at this iconic location, there were over 50 police officers and news crew too, Ive literally NEVER seen this area so quiet before (apparently there had been a threat but it was a false alarm ) Then we proceeded to get questioned by 5 seperate security guards what we were doing you know my m...otto, ask for forgiveness not permission It was really fun experimenting with a new style of photography but I cant choose out of these two shots what my fave is!? And it largely has to do with my last post about wanting to fall in love with photography again. Whilst I ain’t an advocate for shooting / working for eXpOSurE I am a fan of doing it for the 3 following reasons: ... To update your portfolio - When it’s time for a refresh, collab with some pals or book models and HMUA’s. Use this as your opportunity to express YOUR creative freedom, not create for clients. If it’s for a charity you value - This doesn’t mean you need to say YES to every charity who needs a donation. Help out people / organisations that are aligned with your values and who appreciate your work If it’s in exchange for something - The world works off energy aka give and take. If you want to help a small brand out with photography, go for it! But see if you can offer your services in exchange for EQUAL value! What’s your opinion on working for free? 22.01.2022 Im currently in transition of so many darn things and Ill be super honest and say sometimes its very tricky to navigate these waters. Uncertainty is one of the most magical, yet frustrating things in the world! I have big plans for my business, but also am not sure exactly what they are. I know I need to release old thought patterns to allow for the new, grandeur ones...but Im also terrified. ... What does it look like if I dont take on boudoir / weddings / couples or literally anything that has made my business what it is today? What does it mean to completely pivot what youre doing? What does success look like when youre not getting paid for what your creating? Who the fuck am I if Im not successful by my old definition of that word? Very thought provoking stuff my friend! Its such a weird yet fascinating phase of life to be in (also the irony is not lost on me that Im also transitioning between aussie life to Scottish life). But its one that I simply must ride out and trust and know that when the time to leap is here, that I will do so. 22.01.2022 WHEN AN ARTIST AND A PHOTOGRAPHER FALL IN LOVE For those of y’all who don’t know, @billyclicks and I met on a fateful night swiping right on tinder. As destiny would have it, we matched and began a courtship together shortly after. It was a New Years kiss and a visit to dunnotar castle that really sealed the deal. I never thought I’d want a creative partner, but fate would have it that having a creative beau would dramatically change my life, my business and my circle!... We were kept apart from one another for 7 months over Covid, and many tears, visa applications and flights later, were reunited in Edinburgh in October last year! 21.01.2022 With 2020 coming to an end, the general consensus is thank fuck this is over, which yes, I’m right there with ya! But keep in mind, that when the clock strikes 12 on the 31st of December and we turn over to 2021, that things won’t magically change (bummer, I know) You won’t be blessed with more motivation. You won’t be handed the solution. You won’t be offered the job out of the blue. The dream partner won’t just show up on your doorstep (...or they might ) You are in con...trol of your life and you are the one who has the power to make change. So you’ll need to take the action to make shit happen. I’ve never been a fan of New Years resolutions because they are so loaded with pressure that only approx 8% of people achieve them - mental! So instead of setting a New Years resolution, set yourself some small achievable goals that you can get started in the next few days before the year rolls around. Send the email, ask the question, go for the walk, drink some water or buy the thing that’ll help you get a little bit closer what’s one little action you can take now to get the wheels turning?

20.01.2022 Imperfect action beats perfect inaction...every time Last night in my @ambedoacademy zoom class I had to give my students a kick up the bum for not doing any homework and for starting to slip off the radar. Nup. Not having a bar of it! If you invest time and money with me, ya better BELIEVE Im gonna slap you into action! Some excuses were... I dont have time My photos arent good enough My response to this? 1. Everyone has time. If you think you have none, dont touch your phone for a day and come back to me. 2. Comparison is the their of joy. Just fucking do it. We get so caught up in the idea that things must be PERFECT before we do them. But the thing is, there will never be a perfect ANYTHING. There is no perfect time to start a side hustle (if thats what you wanna do). Anytime is a good time. Theres no such thing as a perfect photograph / artwork / piece of music. So just take it / do it anyway. There is no such thing as perfect action, but we make perfect inaction a helluva lot more often, right? 17.01.2022 Happy Pisces full moon insta fam!!! I absolutely love full moons (cancerian life, my ruling planet is this sexy mofo ) and know that theres a bunch of info out there about whats right and wrong on a full moon eve! But for me, a full moon ritual is only wrong if it doesnt feel right for you. Some months I put all my crystals out under the glow of the moon, some months I do a releasing ritual, other months I stay in bed and watch the simpsons cause I know the moon kno...ws whats up. It honestly all depends on how I feel! When it comes to the woo, I truely believe that we need to make practices and rituals that feel GOOD for us, otherwise theres no point. If youre sitting there sacrificing a chicken at 8.01pm wondering if youre doing it right and concerned the whole darn time, chances are your ritual efforts are going to be wasted But if youre COMPLETELY lost and dont know where to start, here are somethings you can do tonight (and tomorrow night!) if you feel the pull to get a little bit magical * Pop all your magical goods under the light of the full moon overnight * Write a list of all the things youd like to release and burn it / rip it up or flush it! * Light a candle and engrave names / symbols or wishes into it, light and leave overnight (if you can safely do so!) * Have a beautiful candle lit bath with essential oils, bath salts and chilled tunes * Write a list in your phone of all the things youre grateful for! Now y’all know I’m not a huge fan of the whole New Years resolution but I am a fan of setting goals and taking action. With the UK going through another lockdown, there’s honestly no better time to learn something new and in my opinion, there’s no time like the present! I’ve signed myself up for an embroidery course, organised to start my 1-1 French lessons again and ...am on the hunt for a violin teacher! 14.01.2022 In July last year I took a 10 day trip around the highlands and Isle of Skye as a way to pass time at the end of a big UK/ Euro adventure. Never in a million years did I think I would stumble across my soul home. Scotland does something to my heart when I travel through it. I’m often brought to tears tbh. I feel this deep sense of contentment here and connection with the land and I feel.... well, at home. One of my biggest priorities for 2021 is to explore it more and visit a...s many isles as humanly possible! At the moment we are on Isle of Lewis / Harris and I am so at peace here (even if driving occasionally stresses me out). Taking our time to drive through the island and stopping to soak up the magic of the landscape, the beauty of the rapidly changing weather and the sights and sounds... ugh. I can’t even. I’ve had so many people message me saying that Scotland was never a travel destination they were interested in, then they saw my snaps and instantly changed their minds how about you? 14.01.2022 Last year I almost quit photography No, seriously. I was considering a career change because I had lost the love for taking photos after years of burning out. But after some soul searching and a very blunt talking to by @billelis , we discovered that I hadn’t shot just for FUN in over a year - mental! So in August last year I took a month off paid client work and focused solely on building my portfolio again. I got creative just for the sake of it. Shot portraits I wanted... to shoot, not what clients wanted, and it had such a profound effect on my work and my love for photography came FLOODING BACK! Since then, I’ve actively made it a priority to shoot personal work as often as possible. I captured this lil diddly late last year with @frankieminnock and I cannot wait to see what 2021 has in store for me! What do you think of this portrait? Doesn’t she look ethereal?!

10.01.2022 It’s been a little while since I’ve shared some creative work because ya gal has been catching up on lost Scotland time It’s so funny because I LOVE shooting, literally love it, but sometimes (like right now) I’m met with resistance and anxiety to T up shoots when it’s been a hot minute since I’ve done personal work. Add a new location with none of my familiarities and I can start to understand why it makes me so nervous! ... 09.01.2022 You cannot climb a fucking mountain, you are unfit, your feet are blistering and you’re going to pass out Fuckkkk our minds are so powerful!! Yesterday we climbed to the most epic view point for the Old Man of Storr and it was one of the hardest walks I’ve ever done we climbed half way up earlier this year with no water or provisions because we read it was only a 500m walk - how hard can that be? Right? In reality it was 500m VERTICALLY.... So yesterday we went more prepared and less naive than last time, determined to get thee shot. My mind was reeling with all the words telling me I couldn’t do this. That I’m not a hiker, that I’m not fit enough, that it would be hard and wouldn’t be worth it etc. and let me tell you, that made the walk that much fucking harder. So I switched the narrative and literally started saying to myself aloud (in between heavy breaths) you’ve got this, you can do this, it’s going to be incredible. The last 10 mins of the hike were the most challenging but I felt the most motivated to do it. And when we got to the top and saw the clouds rolling in over the old man of storr, I was so overwhelmed with emotion and disbelief at what my eyes were seeing. It was genuine magic I guess the moral of this story is whether you’re climbing a mountain (figuratively or literally) the words you use and the thoughts you think can either work against you or in your favour. And the beauty of that? You have the control over the words you choose

08.01.2022 Youre so lucky A sentence I hear pretty gosh darn often. And whilst I do admit (and am super thankful) that I have been dealt some pretty great cards in this lifetime, I also believe I make the most of those cards and take MFA (massive fucking action) to call in the things I really want in life. I have never been the person who thought life owes me shit. Ive always been lucrative (used to sell my own scratchies to local pub goers when I was 8 lol) Ive always believed... if I put my mind to anything I wanted in my life I could get it and I have taken big risks, taken MFA and worked very hard to get where I am. Ive never wanted to take hand outs (and honestly struggle receiving and asking for help) and have had a very strong work ethic instilled in me by my parents, which I owe a huge credit to them for my success as a business woman to this day. Its very easy for people to see my life from the other side of their phones and assume the universe blesses me with more magic than others, when in reality, we all have access to the same magic but we dont all take the same action. Energy reciprocates energy, so if youre sat on the couch waiting for your dream man / job / hobby, then it simply will not fall into your lap if you do not take some action to get there. Yes the universe works in mysterious ways, but theres no room for mystery if youre balls deep in pity town wondering why good shit doesnt happen for you. For example. Yes Ive been given free accomodation in exchange for taking photos this weekend. But I had to book and invest in the first stay at said accomodation, chat with the owners, spruke my wares and prove my snaps are good. Otherwise I wouldnt have been invited to stay again for free. Yes I met my dream man and found my soul home in Scotland. I’m gonna debunk that story in 3 points for y’all cause I used to feel EXACTLY the same way.... 1. You decide what professional looks like in your business. You can’t base your niche biz off rules of another. What’s professional in corporate won’t match what’s profesh in your business. 2. If people don’t hire you because your shining your light, that’s a good thing. You’ll turn away your non ideal clients quicker and make space for people you ACTUALLY vibe with. 3. It’s your Instagram. You can do whatever the fuck you like with it #micdrop What does professional look like in your business / workplace? 08.01.2022 Hows a little throwback to baby Gabby shooting one of her first weddings see guys, this is why I LOVE photos so much, little transportation bubbles to times we may have otherwise forgot. The first wedding I ever shot was on a boat in Sydney harbour in the MIDDLE of the day I didnt have the confidence then to tell my couple that its literally the worst time of day to shoot anything, especially surrounded by reflective water ahhh how far weve come! For those of yo...u who are new around here, I thought Id give you a wee background into how I got here. You see, Ive not always been turning women into magical goddesses or running photography courses - oh no. Ive been a Santa photographer at David Jones, Ive photographed christenings, 21sts, formals, Indian dance recitals and everything in between. Ive always been obsessed with more artistic style photography but lacked the resources and know how to get it happening. But I kinda see it as paying my dues to my experience. 08.01.2022 I’m reading an absolute banging book at the mo called you are a badass at making money. Whilst I already have a pretty fab money mindset, there’s always room for improvement and reminders of lessons we may have forgotten before, including this one. I truely believe that you would not be put on this earth with an idea or desire, without the capability to make it a reality. For example, I wouldn’t be blessed with the desire to become a photographer, without the ability to ch...ase that dream. Alternatively, I have no desire to go deep sea diving so therefore haven’t been blessed with the ability to do it (my ears actually really struggle under water ) So I hope this serves as a little reminder for yourself too, that you can achieve whatever it is you desire, you just gotta go out and get it

07.01.2022 Ya gal is fucking KNACKERED after a huge two days of working with an absolute dream team This month as yall know is all about creativity for me! Ive got no booked client work and am solely focusing on updating my portfolio and shooting for me, just me. Its a really daunting thought to not only say no to a month of work, but to let your creativity out of its cage and into a playpen so it can run free and work through you.... 07.01.2022 I had been so apprehensive to getting back to my creative shoots since landing in Edinburgh. Not sure why, but these old feelings of self doubt started creeping in and prevented me from doing what I love most. Then, cue @frankieminnock into my life and what a blessing it was to photograph her just for fun around the streets of Old Town after doing one shoot I felt inspired and excited to photograph again and can’t wait to keep shooting around my new digs. Our Inspo for this shoot was new age goth but then Edinburgh was sunny on our shoot day (absolute rarity) and we got these gems instead! What do you think?! 06.01.2022 So. If youre new around here you may or may not know that Ive taken the month of August off to focus on personal work (and to have an excuse not to wake up before 9am lets be real here). Im a type A personality who loves to work herself to the bone and then wonders why she gets stress headaches and jaw tension so, this month has been kinda weird so far. I couldnt FULLY stop work so I managed to complete so many tasks and now I sit here (with an open crotch apparentl...y? #powerpose) and wonder what the F to do with my time now theres so much space in my calendar. In full honesty, its made me really irritated I dont know who i am or how to judge myself as successful when I sit in space. I feel lazy, like I should be doing more and am plagued with guilt when I see others with full calendars who barely have time to breathe. I legit thought this month would be hella cruisy but its brought to the forefront some deep, outdated stories about what success looks like to me and this space is asking me to really consider what I want my time and work life to look like (here I was thinking Id just be taking pretty pictures and making crafts ) but I guess thats the process i need to dive into this month and begin to unpick by busy is a badge of honour mentality and work on reframing my mind. What does success look like to me? Why am I afraid of space? Who am I comparing myself to and why? What does it look like when my calendar isnt jammed? 05.01.2022 Intuition - book a trip to the snow right now Logic - youre going away on Wednesday, just chill Intuition - you need to go to the snow. Book immediately Gabby - *books a getaway at 8pm for the next day* ... NEXT DAY Intuition - pull over here and take some photos, how magical is the snow? Logic - yeah great idea! Life - *reception cuts out and we lose GPS signal with no idea where the fuck we are* Logic - my bad Intuition - just keep driving Logic - were lost! Weve been driving for ages. Should we pull over and ask for help? Intuition - theres a national park coming up, pull over and take photos Logic - its getting dark! We dont have time?! Intuition - just listen to me Gabby - *pulls over and takes epic photos for 30 minutes in beautiful afternoon light on snow covered forest floor* Logic - ok, lets find this accomodation Intuition - *giggles* Gabby - *pulls out of the park, to find the accomodation literally directly across from her. Would have missed it if we didnt pull into the park* Intuition - Trusting our intuition can be so hard sometimes. We let it fall quiet amongst logic and stress. But were given opportunities every single day to listen again, to tune in to what our soul wants us to hear. 05.01.2022 My last wedding of 2020 Yesterday was quite a bittersweet feeling. It was so wonderful to celebrate with Sarah and Todd and Im so grateful my last big day of the year was such a beautiful one!! These two are such a divine, humble, beautiful couple and I had the best time with them! I cant believe my wedding season is over though?! It has been such a hectic year for us all, especially those who are in the wedding industry and for brides and grooms planning their special da...ys. Dates have been postponed and cancelled, wedding guest lists slashed in half, full wedding plans dropped to do simple elopements - its been such a hard year on this industry and Im right there feeling it with you. I was meant to shoot 10 weddings this year and returned from Scotland to honour all those bookings, then Covid struck and everything got thrown up in the air. I have had cancellations, heart breaking phone calls, doubt, stress and anxiety non stop for the last 6 months and my poor wee soul is tired theres only so much heavy news you can take/give and whilst I am sad my wedding season is over this year, Ill be so honest and say Im grateful that it is done for now. No more hard convos, no more disappointment, just a new thing to focus on moving forward and something actually within my control. I have so loved my time as a wedding photographer, but something a lot of people wont tell you is that your life is very much dictated around the schedule of others and they become a priority over your own time. I literally left my partner and life in Scotland to be here for my weddings because they were my priority and I dont regret that! I am very proud that as a business owner I honour my word and whilst I didnt get to shoot all my weddings, I hope my couples know how much I truely care about them and their big days. (And Im so looking forward to the new dates my couples have set next year) Whilst Im no longer taking on wedding clients, Im kinda a never say never gal. Who knows what might be in the future?! 05.01.2022 5 YEARS AGO I CHANGED MY FUCKING LIFE I sat on my bed with my VERY FIRST coach and she asked me a question which has since been the driving point of everything I work hard for to this day. It was what would you do every day, if money and time weren’t an issue? And I said take photos and travel... At the time I was selling dildos online for a joke shop (not a word of a lie) so this seemed like a far stretch! But many years later, after a lot of work, mindset shifts and harnessing the magic of manifestation, I can now proudly call this my reality! So how about you? 04.01.2022 Let me tell you, today was a dream! Even though I finished my official month of creativity off yesterday, today was more like the day that sealed the deal. Today I felt my brain put all the learnings from the past month into play. I used my new fave lens, I nailed lighting (both natural and artifical) and my editing style feels so much more refined. 04.01.2022 WHEN YOU’RE IN A CREATIVE RUT Hands fucking UP if you’ve felt the cruel sting of thy creative rut before (or if you’re balls deep in one at the moment ) Here’s a couple of tips to help get those creative vibes flowing once more so you can keep making motherfunkin MAGIC ... Try something different! If you’re a writer, why not give finger painting a go? If you’re a brand specialist, how about baking? One of the quickest ways to unblock a rut is to change it UP! Refresh your space Maybe you need more natural light, or a plant friend or perhaps you’ve got a butt tonne of random shit lying around #uninspiring , tidy your space, relocate, buy a castle (or just clean up) Give yourself space Forget all about the creative task at hand and go be a zombie. Play video games, eat Doritos whilst watching the simpsons - whatever! Allow yourself the space to do nothing and watch the creative spice make it’s way back into your life. 04.01.2022 People will tell you that you need to stay in your job for 30 years, because that’s just what we do. People will tell you to stay in a relationship that makes you unhappy because you should feel ‘lucky’ you even HAVE a relationship People will tell you that they want to see you thrive, but when you start doing ‘above average’ that you’ve changed and they will find ways to cut you down.... But it’s not people’s fault that they tell you this. It’s been built into them (and us) and passed down from lessons taught to us by our parents and those who surround us. So there’s no point in playing the blame game. It’s your responsibility to break a pattern or mindset that doesn’t serve you. It’s your responsibility to make yourself happy. It’s your responsibility to live an authentic life, which essentially means, doing what makes YOU happy! Not anyone else. Not mum, dad, friends, grandparents, partners etc. True integrity is doing what is RIGHT for you, and usually when it feels right and authentic to YOU....it also feels scary. Often people will tell you you’re doing the wrong thing. Because it makes them uncomfortable that you’re straying from a familiar path. For me, that’s usually a good sign. When people questioned my decision to leave my safe full time job, I knew I was on the right track. When I decided to leave my very stable business to relocate and people weren’t sure of my choice, my decision was affirmed to me. To live with true authenticity and to find genuine happiness, you must pave the scary path that strays from comfort. You must do what you TRUELY want to do and without sounding cheesy, you only have one lifetime to do this - so you better get started!

03.01.2022 I have so many words to share this morning but wasnt sure what I wanted to say (ironic!) but its only because Im full of SO MUCH FUCKING GRATITUDE THAT I DONT KNOW WHAT TO SHARE ABOUT?!!?!! So pls indulge me whilst I rant away about how flippin grateful I am for the magic that surrounds my life right now - THEN, I encourage you to jump on the gratitude train! Energy attracts energy, like attracts like. By simply sharing what we are grateful for we send out vibrations i...nto the world that attract similar experiences of that frequency! So here we go! 02.01.2022 Didnt think Id be saying this in September of all months but today is my last wedding of the year!! I was meant to have 10 weddings this year and have only shot 3 #thankscovid I am so looking forward to capturing todays special day as its for a good friend of mines and we go WAAAAYYY back to my corporate days (swipe to see I promise I did actually work at that job) Its such a bittersweet feeling as I wont be photographing weddings anymore (apart from the ones that ...I already booked who have been postponed of course!) but also kind of a lovely end to a chapter that Im closing in my business. Working weddings has been so incredible and such a magical part of my life, Im endlessly grateful for all the brides and grooms who picked me to capture their days and my heart is so full that I got to be that lucky photographer, but Im really excited to focus the energy and time I have now on newer ventures for Ambedo! 02.01.2022 Expectation vs reality Travelling with your partner is hella fun, but also hella stressful when you’re both type A personalities who want to get constant epic shots (impossible) Some days are very long, with extended drives, mental weather, being with each other non stop, feeling yuck, worrying about bringing a mask everywhere...you get the idea!... @billelis_obscura and i are having the best time together and focusing on being present and off our phones as much as we can and also granting each other some alone time to recharge and reset whenever we can too I think it’s so important to set your boundaries and talk through sore points (like when gabby is a moody bitch and when billy faffs about love you) to respect each other when you’re travelling. This is a friendly reminder that no ones lives or relationships are perfect and happy all the time. 01.01.2022 I had a great chat with a beautiful friend who mentioned she felt she couldn’t wear makeup or dress up because it wasn’t in alignment with her spirituality...and I felt that! I love being spiritual but I definitely feel sometimes that it comes with this expectation of piousness. If you’re spiritual it means you must grow your body hair, be in tune with nature, never swear, drink or do drugs, remain perfectly ethereal and never excrete waste (okay a bit far fetched with that l...ast one and also no judgement if any of this is your vibe) But remember that we are human beings having a human experience on this earth.
