24.01.2022 Update from Mortgage Business Magazine; It has now been agreed that any Australian who is granted a deferral on loan repayments on their mortgage or other credit products, such as a credit card, will not have their credit rating affected as a result of that deferral (provided they were up to date with repayments prior to COVID-19). As well as providing consistency, it is hoped the announcement will relieve stress for Australian customers.... The CEO of the ABA, Anna Bligh, commented: If a customer is granted a deferral on their mortgage and other credit products because of COVID-19, banks will report customers as not having missed a repayment, provided they were all up to date when granted relief.

Building Bonus Package grants are available for people who enter into a contract to build a new home on vacant land or purchase a new home being constructed under a single-tier strata plan. Two grants are available to promote investment in the WA residential market and stimulate jobs in the construction industry.... A grant of $20,000 is available for eligible applicants who; * enter into a contract to build a new home on vacant land or * enter into an off-the-plan contract to purchase a new home as part of a single-tier strata scheme. The contract must be entered into between 4 June 2020 and 31 December 2020. If you receive one of these grants, you may still be eligible to receive the first home owner grant. There is no cap on the purchase price or value of the contract. Multiple grants can be paid to the same applicant on separate transactions that meet the criteria for each grant.

02.01.2022 As the situation improves in the eastern states, WA's Chief Health Officer has recommended some changes for people arriving into our State from Victoria and New... South Wales. From Monday, 5 October: Travellers entering WA from New South Wales will now be subject to the same entry conditions that apply to other States and Territories (excluding Victoria), including the requirement to present for a COVID-19 test on day 11 of their quarantine. For more information visit: https://www.wa.gov.au//depa/covid-19-coronavirus-travel-wa People arriving from Victoria will still need to meet tighter exemption criteria but will no longer be subject to mandatory hotel quarantine if they can nominate suitable premises for self-quarantine as part of their exemption approvals. All arrivals from Victoria will be required to do a mandatory COVID-19 test on arrival, and again on day 11. To keep Western Australia safe, the State border remains closed while the situation in the eastern states continues to be monitored.
