21.01.2022 Young Galloway cow - Amberley Park Gucci L32 (AP L32) at "Strathvean" Tarcutta NSW.... enjoying a good season for the first time!

19.01.2022 SCOTTISH BLACK COMPOSITE: Amberley Park Sitting Bull - Scottish Black (Angus X Galloway) 16mths old, Wgt 640kg, pasture fed only. Mature weight: 1180kg. Sire: Te Mania Ragamuffin Dam AP Lady MacBeth.

18.01.2022 Amberley Park Cattle are built to last. Longevity is a selection trait that has been over looked by many stud breeders in the name of performance and generation turnover. AP aims for all three and have been doing so for over 50 years... starting performance recording in 1965, selecting for fertility, temperament and correct structure.... If cattle didn't perform in the latter 3 traits they didn't last long and where culled.

17.01.2022 Amberley Park Blueroans (Shorthorn X Galloway) in Scotland they call them "Bluegrays". We always topped the market with these cattle. Their brothers or sons won many carcass competitions and grazing trials. One of the many great crosses with Galloways. Photo: All these cows are over 10 years of age. calf is a Limo sired. Blueroan cows, blue ear tags and Bluegums!

13.01.2022 GALLOWAYS AND THEIR CROSSES: A pair of Brahman X Galloway steers (brothers to this bull) entered by Amberley Park, won the weight gain section with an average weight gain of nearly 1.80 Kg a day! In equal second place was another entry from Amberley Park featuring Galloway crosses (G x Shorthorn & G X Angus) with a gain of 1.75 Kg. ... The 40 plus year Gippsland Grazing Trials runs all breeds and crosses on the same pasture for approx 5 months The steers’ carcasses are then assessed for quality and yield and have to fit into the desired carcass weight & fat cover to qualify for prizes and premium prices. The point system is 55% for carcass and 45% for weight gain, which stresses the importance of producing the right product! This trial is a very good way of testing cattle against all breeds under the same conditions, and over a long history, the Galloway breed and crosses has been overall winners or usually in the placing. The sisters to this bull proved to be great females through a variety of seasons.

08.01.2022 A GREAT START TO 2021 FOR GALLOWAY COMPOSITES .. mainly Amberley Park Genetics A pen of Galloway X Angus cows with Galloway sired calves at foot, made $3,550 a unit, at the Camperdown Breeder’s Sale, in early January 2021 Congrats to the vendors where Greg and Sharon Bartley, who where dispersing their herds because they recently sold their Barwon Downs property and moved from Barwon Vic. to Queensland.... They had previously sold their Barwon Downs Stud Galloway herd to new Galloway breeders in NSW and Victoria. Their commercial herd was made up of Galloway X Angus composites called ‘Scottish Blacks. They were a great line of productive cows with excellent calves at foot and must have been well appreciated by the purchases hence the price paid.

05.01.2022 The reason for all the cattle photos is because my girls don't want us to post their stuff! Photo at Buchan just a few years ago!

04.01.2022 EASTERN RUSSIAN GALLOWAYS: The right Cattle for the Russian environment and for the good of the environment! The vast regions of Siberia and the Far East of Russia are the home of these great Galloway cattle. Russian forethought resulted in an invitation given for three Oz Galloways studs to visit the regions in the 1990s.... The studs where Globex , Southern Cross and Amberley Park. The result was that Russia imported semen and embryos. Decades later they have stud Galloway herd and commercial herds with Galloway genetics in them numbering over 40,000 head!

04.01.2022 Amberley Park Wombat (AP D04) out of the great Gucci cowline .

02.01.2022 https://www.raynerag.com.au//vk9hbh4b0zf4dja4kjh1vv5v872rj Photo of bull is actually one of our bulls I photographed at Amberley Park Hallston. He is a "Scottish Black" bull (Galloway 50% - Angus 50% composite) called Amberley Park Bry J44!

01.01.2022 SCOTTISH BLACKS: A Galloway X Angus composite - I used to call them Buchan Blacks when based in Buchan, Vic. Now days a lot more people are breeding this composite, hence the more universal name. Photo: Good breeding and good management gives good results.... Part of John and Joanne Tesoriero’s Fireglow Scottish Black herd heading back out to the paddock after work in the yards. John and Joanne have had a lot of success with their cattle from both the production and marketing aspects as well as surviving the very bad drought years where their heifers had a 100% pregnancy rate.
