24.01.2022 Amity Schmak now available in row or sail versions.

21.01.2022 Sorry to say that our planned Pineapple Raid for August 2018 has been cancelled. Not what we wanted, but unforeseen business commitments have played a trump ca...rd. Sorry to those who were looking forward to it. Those of us from Amity Boats do plan on sailing at the Gaffers (Sandgate QCYC) 28/29th July. Nigel Statham - the Big Cheese from QCYC is keen for Raiders and other vessels to come and enjoy the hospitality at the Gaffers which is always a real hoot. You don't need to have a classic, there is a "Spirit of tradition" for boats like the RL34's, and the last few years there were lots of small boats (incl the Amity's and Jubilee's sailing their own division with shorter courses. Follow the link here to enter http://www.qcyc.com.au/go/Default.aspx Hope to see as many of you as possible there. Pineapple HQ out.

17.01.2022 Amity Classic in full flight

13.01.2022 Some nice vintage boats at the marina - Tiaki 1964 Woolacott from NZ just had some Amity treatment. The Tahua behind began life in 1939. The NEW Amity Schmack front and center, now for sale from $3000.

13.01.2022 43rd VINTAGE YACHT REGATTA INVITATION The Regatta, also fondly referred to as ‘The Gaffers’ will be held over the 28th and 29th of July. The Regatta is open to ...sailing yachts and dinghies. Motor boats are encouraged to participate in the Concours d’Elégance competition. Berthing for all vessels is free from the Friday evening throughout the weekend. On both days, two races are held each day with a short break in between. Three of the races are an ‘around the cans’ format. All boats use the same start/finish line but, the faster boats start 10 minutes earlier than the smaller and slower ones. They also sail a longer course than the smaller boats to keep the fleet together and add to the atmosphere. The final race of the weekend will be a short passage race, once again with a shorter course for the smaller boats, with the finish line positioned to allow the boats to head straight into the Club for the grand finale of the weekend, the Presentations. Whilst all the courses do have upwind legs, the focus is one of close reaching and downwind runs rather than long beats to windward. Each yachts handicap changes after each race based on their performance keeping results close and everyone in the hunt for good placing’s. On shore the restaurant and bar are open throughout the weekend for Breakfast and Dinner. Packed lunches to take out on the boats are available. NEW FOR 2018... On Saturday afternoon once back at the Club, crews are encouraged to participate in the real competition for the weekend; Gig racing. Sculling, rowing and sailing. Singles, doubles, kids, pets, over 60’s tearing around the courses as if their lives depended on it! Its our very own tropical version of Henley-on-Thames and just a jolly good afternoon out and the perfect entrainment for those at the bar. Make sure you bring your tender along! The festivities then continue into the evening with live music from six o’clock and dinner by the roaring fire. Concours d’Elégance judging takes place over the course of the weekend and awards are given out in a number of categories This is a great weekend for all classic boats, big or small. If your boat dates from or pre 1980 or is a Spirit of Tradition vessel built in the ‘Classic’ style come along for some relaxed social racing and great festivities. Go to http://www.qcyc.com.au/go/vr/Home.aspx for full information, the Invitation to Enter pack and online entry to the Regatta. The Vintage Yacht Regatta is proudly supported by Hempel Yacht Paints, Amity Boats, Deagon Slipways, Australiawide Boat Sales and Crush Fine Wines
