24.01.2022 The greatest validation is that of our beloved couples. Our families and friends have no doubt offered their encouragement and fair share of kind words along the way, but nothing speaks to you the way our couples do when they're tearing up over the finished product. When we started Amlight, we strived at any cost to get content to be able to advertise our work here on Instagram, in hopes that someone could come across it and be impressed Photo after photo, our Instagram an...d website was built as our journey continued. The weeks became months and before you knew it, we had something going for us. Somewhere along the way, we must've done a thing or two right by a few of our couples and word began to spread. Testimonials and word of mouth advertising soon became the primary means of advertisement. It is without a doubt our favourite way of meeting new clients. Not only do we like it when nice things are said about us lol but it also reassures us that what we do has attributed to enriching people's lives. At the end of the day, that's all there is to photography. Time becomes more valuable yet more scarce the older one gets and no one in the right mind would give up their weekends with their families and friends unless the payoff was worth it. Our client satisfaction and gratitude makes it worth it. Knowing that we did right by you and told your story the way it should be told, that gives us the greatest joy and satisfaction. We cherish these experiences as our own and bring them home to our loved ones in the form of stories and inspiration. There's always something to be learnt from each couple, something we can always look back at and apply to our own relationships. 20.01.2022 We were just looking back at our early work and thought to ourselves that no matter how much has changed in the past 3 years, our couples have always been of the down-to-earth kind. That is one consistency we noticed while scrolling down our feed. They've all been honest and real and that is how we style our photography too - a real and honest approach. We don't add fake sunsets, or airbrush your face to the point where you're no longer recognisable. Yes we do remove pimples..., eye bags, scars and bruises as well as other distracting elements that serve no purpose in the overall storytelling, but we don't amp up the fakeness in post production. It's just not our style. We have been blessed with the most humble and kind couples who have been a pleasure to work with and shoot for. 19.01.2022 Decisions, decisions..life's full of them and it can be particularly overwhelming during wedding planning. How do you decide on what vendors to book for your big day? Some deciding factors may be how presentable their website is, or what the reviews and testimonials have to say about them. It may also be the prices for their services, or the deals they have to offer their clients more value on their wedding planning journey. Whatever it is, planning a wedding and choosing t...he right team for your day can be a daunting task, but if you choose right you could well be on your way to having the best day of your life. Vendors should put your interests at heart to ensure you have a memorable wedding day that tells your story the way you have always wanted. While it's great to be so spoilt for choice it can sometimes also be confusing as to who to pick in the end. It's always a good idea to have a vision of what you want the general feel of your day to be and what you want it to be remembered for many years down the track. If done right, your vendors will present YOU and your story to your guests and to your future selves in the most stress free and honest of ways. The sentiments, the theatrics, food and music should mesh seamlessly in a way that is true to you. Having an idea helps shortlist all the vendors to suit your style and needs...then you have to get in touch and reach out. Arrange obligation-free meetings and get a sense of what's out there. After all, they are your hand selected team who will help make your day special so make sure that you are comfortable with them. Don't ever feel like you're being pushed into signing on the dotted line or having to make hasty uninformed decisions. Most vendors will give you time to think things through before any commitment is made. I wrote this not just in the mindset of being in a photography business, but moreso just drawing upon my own experience as someone who's gone through the planning process. 17.01.2022 We are very much looking forward to Emma and Jarrod's wedding at the Gunner's Barracks later this year. When we met, we could already tell that they were invested in the photography of their wedding day. The meeting consisted of valid questions and apt suggestions regarding lighting and the time of year to do their engagement shoot. We ended up doing their shoot about a year from their wedding day to give them an accurate feel of what the light would be like come their big day so they could plan their runsheet accordingly. This proactive approach in working with your photographers is highly commendable and encouraged for all our couples as it helps us help them in put together a special day with all its moments captured. 15.01.2022 There is no feeling more flattering than the feeling of someone picking you to photograph their biggest day. While Amlight Photography is our pride and joy, it isn't our only job so we understand that when we go out on wedding shoots we know that the spot we occupy could very well be the spot of a starving artist, or a photography business who works just as hard, if not harder to make ends meet. We would never want to be in a position where we've taken the bread and butter of... someone more deserving. So if we were to take on a wedding gig, we always strive to do what is right by not only the clients but also by all others in the wedding photography industry. We deliver the best possible experience and quality that we possibly can for our couples while keeping the prices fair for our fellow peers the industry who are trying to make a living for their families. 10.01.2022 When Allan and I first started, we agreed that I'd be doing the Facebook and Instagram part of the marketing while he would be in charge of the website. With Allan slowly cutting back on his duties to put more focus on family commitments he was so kind to leave me with 8 pages worth of instructions to take over the website side of things moving forward. 04.01.2022 We absolutely loved this wedding back in March, which was highlighted by Kat and Trams most touching vow exchange. Tram finished her vows to Kat with the line "I love you so much." Simple but effective as it stuck with us since that day. At the end of the day, that's really what it's all about - genuine, raw, selfless love and all you do is with the aim of making your other half happy. Many see planning their wedding day as a challenge - whether it be financial, logistics or anything in between. No one ever factors in a pandemic to be a part of that challenge. So for those couples who are faced with difficult decisions whilst tackling this seemingl...y insurmountable task, just know that we are here to support you every step of that way no matter what you decide to do with your day. Do not worry about your photography. Let us take care of that. If you need to change your days proceedings, we will work with that. If you need to postpone a portion or all of your wedding day, we will honor our commitment to you and provide you the photographic service you deserve no matter where and when your big day has shifted to. If all alternative arrangements fail and it comes to the cancellation of your big day due to reasons beyond your control, we will refund you your deposit. There is no catch here. All our clients who have had their plans affected, we want you to know you've done an amazing job in putting together your wedding thus far. Your story doesn't end here. Look at this as a part of your story - a hurdle you both must overcome in the face of adversity. 03.01.2022 Personally this was one of my favourite pre-wedding shoots of all time. And I don't throw that around lightly. It was one of those days where you go back to your car and think to yourself "Damn, we totally nailed that one!". From start to finish, it just couldn't have turned out any better. Gentle was the breeze as the sun was creeping behind wispy clouds, casting that much needed soft light over Karen and Jerry. This was the perfect way to finish off the shoot. It was a mer...e few days before my own wedding and I was starting to feel the stress leading up to it, however I'm so glad I was present to capture what eventually became what I feel is the closest to perfect prewedding shoot Amlight has ever captured. A year has gone by since this shoot, and boy what a year it has been. We are glad that we could create moments and capture photos for our couples but at the same time create fond memories for ourselves. We will always look back at this shoot with a smile.
