16.01.2022 Remote Learning! This week our teachers and support staff have been busily preparing Learning Packs for our Prep-6 students. The book packs are available today for collection from 12pm-4:30pm or Monday from 9am onwards. Grade Prep- 4 Learning Packs are to be collected in the school hall.... Grade 5-6 Learning Packs are to be collected in the Art Room, enter via outside Art Room door closest to the canteen area. 09.01.2022 Our cooking sessions have been a little different of late but that hasn’t stopped us enjoying our lessons. We have been making scrumptious bread rolls with the beautiful flour donated to us by ‘The Sharkey family’ from Dry Creek Milling Co. They took us on a tour of their farm (Boundary Fence Tours) and shared the way that they process their grains to make the flour. THANK YOU for having us on Webex- we loved learning all about the flour process. The bread rolls were 10/10! #altonameadowsps

07.01.2022 NAIDOC WEEK We love seeing what different grades have done for NAIDOC Week. Here are just a few examples of what some of the grades did this week- 1/2N did dot paintings using traditional aboriginal symbols to show what AMPS means to them. 3/4G celebrated Naidoc Week by creating some paintings of native Australian animals using dots in the colours of the Aboriginal Flag. Prep B and 1/2C researched traditional dot paintings and created some of their own. Jada in 3/4L taught the grade a special Aboriginal dance that she has been learning in her dance class! #altonameadowsps #alwayswaysalwayswillbe

07.01.2022 The 5/6 students farewelled Mr Reid yesterday with a farewell game of cricket. Renegade Reid’s Vs Longstar’s. Unfortunately it was a draw! We had some great one handed catches from the spectators Jayden, Alfie and Mrs Rotterveel. There was some good batman ship by Yusuf and Brock and some professional bowling by Noah. Mr Reid enjoyed a guard of honour by the students. The match was enjoyed by all. #altonameadowsps

05.01.2022 Eloise and her family created an egg drop competition, where you have to make a design that allows for an egg to be safely dropped 2 meters off the ground without cracking! Take a look at Eloises videos and the surprise ending in the comments! Your challenge should you choose to accept it, is to design your own egg contraption and have an egg drop competition with your family! How eggs-citing Have fun everyone. #altonameadowsps

04.01.2022 Mrs.Hall and Miss.Lang worked with the students at school on Friday to create their own spoon characters . They are now living in AMPS Spoonville (which is in the garden bed on the west side of the school). When you are out walking this week you might want to walk pass the school and have a look. If you would like to make a Spoon character to add to our Spoonville feel free to join in the fun! If you dont have access to Spoons you are welcome to create a Rock character that can live in the neighbouring suburb of AMPS Rockville! Spoon and Rock characters can be dropped off at the office when they are finished and our little Spoonville Monitors will put them carefully in our Spoonville. Get creative and have fun!! #altonameadowsps

03.01.2022 AMPS BOOK FAIRPlease support our school by purchasing some of the amazing books on display at our book fair. We will be open during lunch time from this Friday 26th November and each day next week! Students have filled out a wish list form and taken it home along with a pamphlet that explains the book fair. They can then bring back to school, the money to purchase the book/s or if you would like to pay online, please get them to bring in the receipt number. Happy shopping! With Christmas just around the corner, books make the best of gifts! There is also a Scavenger Hunt Competition for students to win a book pack prize.#altonameadowsps

02.01.2022 Grade 5 finished off their year with a play at the park. They loved being able to walk, talk, splash, build, swing, beyblade, dodge, flip, shoot for goal and just have lots of fun. It was a year to remember and our Grade 5’s made the most of this opportunity. Grade 5 wish you all a happy and safe Christmas and New Year.
