25.01.2022 Sad news today as we’ve heard of the passing of beautiful Paul, AMR Dentals’ adopted Koala from the @portmacquariekoalahospital. Paul was the first koala rescued in the bushfires in Port Macquarie last November. He was taken to the hospital badly burnt and traumatised. During his time there, and with the help of incredible, specialised care, Paul’s healing progressed as expected. Unfortunately, over the past week, his health declined and he passed away quickly. We send love and thanks to the volunteers and staff who cared for Paul, who must be devastated by his loss. There are still 18 Koals in need of adoption at the hospital, and we shall be awaiting word of our next furry friend.

24.01.2022 Although our dentists are back on the tools (albeit a little differently than usual), we still have a little way to go before our hygiene team get the green light to return to the clinic. But...even when we’re not ‘working’, we’re working....our amazing Oral Heath Therapist, Gen is using her time wisely doing a professional development course from home. It’s all about bringing YOU the most up to date dentistry techniques and knowledge we possibly can! ... @www.amrdental.com.au

23.01.2022 Our adopted koala, Paul...getting by the day. The folks at @portmacquariekoalahospital still need financial support. With so many koalas suffering horrific burns during the bushfires, care is costly and ongoing. Check out their page to donate, adopt, or simply marvel at their commitment and incredible work.... #portmacquariekoalahospital See more

22.01.2022 It’s another birthday celebration for one of our crew; none-other than our resident social media guru, soup-day chef, steri-queen newbie and obviously the boss’s numero-uno, Bec..!

20.01.2022 Never underestimate the power of flossing

17.01.2022 It’s time to take a closer look at your supermarket purchases. They’re not as healthy as you may think! Sugar is everywhere in supermarket staples, even some that may appear to be healthy on the surface, and so this Dental Health Week (3-9 August | www.dentalhealthweek.com.au), we’re pulling back the sugary curtain to show you what’s really in the food you eat, and how this information can help you be healthier all over but especially in your mouth! With the average Austr...alian consuming 14 teaspoons of sugar a day and the profoundly negative effects this has on our nation’s oral health - there’s never been a better time to educate yourself about sugars lurking in the foods you and your family consume. Each week we will provide you with great information, tips and suggestions to keep your teeth and gums healthy....stay tuned! #amrdental www.amrdental.com.au See more

16.01.2022 Raise your glasses folks, we have some great news! As of this coming Monday, we are back to practicing at Level One! While this is a significant step towards normality, it does not yet mean we are back to business as normal.... We will still be taking the following steps to keep everyone safe - * Triaging patients by phone for any signs of COVID-19 * Practicing excellent hand hygiene (as we always do!) * Providing patients with a pre-procedural mouth rinse * Practicing social distancing in our waiting room * Limiting all high-touch items such as books, magazines and toys. As per normal, our infection control measures will be second to none. You can be assured that your safety, and that of our staff and family members is paramount. This decision is a huge relief to our profession, and our many patients awaiting treatment. We cannot wait to see you all. www.amrdental.com.au

15.01.2022 Happy, happy Birthday to one of our front desk gems, Kerri. We are so grateful for everything you do!

14.01.2022 Covid-19 Update - The government has eased restrictions on dental services to ‘Level 2’ from the 28th of April. ... The Prime Minister made the announcement that gives dental practices the ability to attend to the needs of a broader range of patients, not just emergencies. As always, our infection control measures will be second to none, and every measure will be taken to ensure the safety of our patients, staff and community. We look forward to seeing you all soon and we cannot wait to get back to helping you. #amrdental @www.amrdental.com.au See more

12.01.2022 Tooth decay in children is usually easily avoided these days, thanks in large part to the use of fluoride, a naturally occurring mineral which plays a critical role in strengthening the ability of your teeth to fight the effects of decay. Fluoride added to water supplies is often hailed as one of the great public health achievements of the last century and every child should have easy access to it.

10.01.2022 Covid-19 Q & A with Dr Kathleen Matthews, President Australian Dental Association, NSW

09.01.2022 Australian dental practitioners have the highest infection control standards in the world and the safety of our patients and our team is paramount at AMR Dental.... All Australian dentists are now working under ‘Level 3’ restrictions; this means we are only permitted to treat emergency patients. A dental emergency is a situation that requires immediate treatment. It may involve conditions that cause severe pain, infection or directly affect your health. If your scheduled treatment has been delayed, we ask for your patience until we resume business as normal. We all have a responsibility to keep our community, and each other safe. We are here for all dental emergencies should you need our care. See more

03.01.2022 AMR Dental = proud sponsor of the MR Masters Football Club very happy to be on board!

03.01.2022 A staggering 73% of young Australians aged between 14 - 18 years of age, and 47% of adults are consuming too much sugar. 40% of Australians never floss and 53% only brush their teeth once a day. So as tempting as it may be to think that everyone is practicing good oral hygiene, the reality is that the oral health of many Australians is not where it should be. ... The Australian Dental Association recommends you consume no more than 6 teaspoons (24 grams) of sugar per day, choose foods with less than 10 grams of sugar per 100 grams and look out for those nasty hidden sugars when purchasing food and drinks! In addition, it is important that you - -Brush twice a day using fluoride toothpaste -FLOSS DAILY -Visit your dentist for regular check ups and dental hygienist for cleans.
