I wonder if we’ll do all the things we always wanted to do, go to the places we dreamt about, hug the people who mean the most to us and tell them how much they mean to us? Maybe we will have a new found respect and value for all the professions and people that are working so hard to make sure we are healthy, happy and wise? ... Maybe life will be simpler, maybe we will see the value in virtual connection but now see that we seek out physical connection and reach for this first? Maybe our families will be happier at home? 07.01.2022 On this trip to Ithaki we decided to approach our water use differently. In the past we’d bought water bottles and refilled them at the spring. We would have about 100 bottles in rotation . This year we bought large plastic containers (although plastic hopefully they will last a few summers ) and popped up once a week to refill the 70 litres. Our water tally so far has been 230 litres of water. We’ve saved 153 x 1.5 litre bottles from landfill and the whole family ...has enjoyed beautiful spring water from the Kalamos springs. It still baffles us why there aren’t more people doing this. We sometimes meet other people at the springs filling up a little bit for their dogs and their gardens but who knows why no one else does it for their drinking water. So if you visit Ithaki please think about how you can reduce your impact on the environment, your health and your hip pocket by visiting the springs and filling up. 05.01.2022 If you havn’t noticed I’ve been a little quiet on the performance front this year. I’ve been super busy running my music therapy business Hummingbird Music Therapy and Singing and have been loving the shift of focus. However I am still singing and I’ll never stop! I have some ideas for the future so stay tuned but for this minute I’m singing in cairns on Saturday from 3pm. You’ll hear me doing some German and Australian art song for something different x

We all do have one of the best pieces of equipment to help guard us against the mental load of this unknown time and that is a positive outlet for the feelings of grief, loss, anxiety, uncertainty and knowing that if you can’t make it- listen to music and look at art it will make your heart happy. So now as you go into foreign lands (Hadjidakis) know that art will be at your side as your companion and your rock.
