08.01.2022 The festive season! Tis the season to be Jolly! It’s that time of year when we all get a bit looser with our habits and tend to let go and have some fun. And boy don’t we all deserve it after the year we just had!! I think it’s really important to remember not to worry on Christmas Day, and just enjoy yourself and not beat yourself up for those extra drinks or desserts etc you may be indulging in. ... However you do need a game plan for the next day, because one day won’t ruin your progress but a few days definitely can. Here are some tips to help you through the next few weeks of the festive season. Begin each day with a big glass of water, pop one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar or 1/2 squeezed lemon in it to help your digestive system and begin the day rehydrating. Eat a healthy breakfast, such as a protein and nutrient rich smoothie or a chia pudding. Start the day well to help you stop snacking on too many sugary or high fat treats. Bypass the heavy carbs on the Christmas table such as the bread rolls or potato salad. Drink in moderation, try having a lower calorie drink such as vodka, lime and soda. Have a drink of water between each alcoholic drink. Try standing away from the snack table when socialising, it’s easy to consume extra calories when tempted by the tasty snacks.
