12.01.2022 A common misconception had by most business owners, profit doesn't always lead to cash. I've witnessed my fair share of business owners at a loss to why they have posted such great profits in their business, but just don't have a bank balance that reflects this. A lot of it has to do with not understanding how cash moves at a different rate to that of our profit. Consider this ... You spend cash to generate revenue. The rate at which you generate revenue may not... match the rate at which you are spending your cash to make it. The receipt of cash for products or services sold, may be at different timing/cycles and therefore doesn't reflect the rate/timing at which profit is being recognised or recorded. Instead why not respect them for what they are ... and that is different and should therefore be managed, monitored and reviewed differently. Spend some time understanding how each work in your business, and then spend the time making sure they work the way you want and need them too.
