15.01.2022 Got to escape the madhouse for a while to do a wreath workshop with Kim from @flowersbylorey with one half of @thenewcastleweekenders it’s pretty awesome when you go somewhere as a complete newbie and get to walk out after a fun class with something pretty to take home!

14.01.2022 What. A. Year! And I ain’t talkin’ bout calendar year or financial year but the year since finding out we were going to be having another baby. I like to reflect and the anniversary of the day that shocked the living daylights out of us is coming up! ... We thought we were going to have to go through the shitty (but worth it!) process of ivf again only to experience our very own miracle. This little miracle (aka potato alien parasite) certainly drained the life out of me and there were moments when I thought I might barf during the middle of a couple of ceremonies but managed to get through them sans spew. Our little bundle of joy finally arrived after what felt like an eternity and all of a sudden, I was a Mum of 2 and hooooooooly burritos did I underestimate just how much time that merely keeping more than one kiddo alive and loved actually takes! My admin and response times took a nosedive and my turnarounds for drafts etc were on a somewhat shorter timeframe while my stress levels skyrocketed but through it all, the couples and families that I have worked with have always understood that I am a Mum above all else and have shown nothing but kindness when they could easily have been pissed at me instead- after all, this IS one of the most important days of their lives! So THANK YOU to everyone that has helped me survive the past year and have waited patiently while I get my shit together and figure out how to balance parenting with celebranting! Big love and sparkles to you all

Couples turn to these publications to plan their perfect day and although they are happy to use vendors that identify as LGBTQIA, they won’t share the stories or images of married couples that are of the same sex. Couples that also deserve recognition for their spectacular day and all the details. Couples that have the most AMAZING moments captured through a lens. Couples... that are getting married because they LOVE each other. But because they are the same sex, that makes them less worthy of gracing the pages of this particular publication. And that makes me so very, very cranky.
