04.01.2022 What a year 2020 proved to be. It was hard, a true challenge as we faced a global pandemic that caused so much worry but also taught us important life lessons. We realised that united we are stronger. We all learnt to slow down and enjoy the simple things, we found solace in those older and wiser in our community.... We also learned the true meaning of family and relationships, the importance of checking in and caring for those we love. We most of all sought to protect those who are vulnerable. How special it is to spend time with those we care for and to appreciate the special moments and memories. Social distancing, hand sanitizer and face masks all became our new normal and will change infection control practices ongoing for sure. We learnt to be apart to help keep each other safe, and yet we all felt closer and more connected than ever before. We learnt that life can change in a short moment. To be present in the here and now and yet to also take things as they come. 2020 you sure gave us all a jolt, something we won’t forget. So many lessons learned, and standing here today, our community is healthy and we got through the uncertainty thus far feels so wonderful. Tonight we say goodbye 2020. 2021 - A NEW year a NEW set of opportunities and a NEW beginning for ALL of us.
