15.01.2022 Media and the public are advised that TOTAL FIRE BANS have been declared for 15 November 2020 in the following Fire Ban Districts: Northwest Pastoral - Severe N...ortheast Pastoral - Severe Eastern Eyre Peninsula - Severe Flinders - Extreme Mid North - Extreme Mount Lofty Ranges - Severe Yorke Peninsula - Severe Riverland - Severe Where Total Fire Bans have been declared, very hazardous fire weather conditions are predicted. The Total Fire Ban will apply for 24 hours from midnight tonight to midnight tomorrow. The CFS recommends that you implement your Bushfire Survival Plan. FIRE DANGER RATING Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Extreme, only well prepared, well constructed and actively defended houses are likely to offer safety during a fire. Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Severe, well prepared and actively defended houses can offer safety during a fire. If you don't have a plan to ensure your survival, leaving early before a fire starts is your safest option. In making your plan, you should be aware that in high fire danger conditions, essential services including mains-fed electricity and water supply may not be available due to the prevailing weather conditions. Landowners are asked to adhere to local harvest codes of practice which are available from your local council. Landowners are also asked to ensure that any burn-off activities conducted today are fully extinguished before midnight tonight. Agencies are advised to activate their Total Fire Ban procedures in preparation for these predicted fire weather conditions. 10.01.2022 After today’s update from SA Health it should be no surprise to any of our members or any part of the cycling community that a direction not to leave your house... for exercise absolutely includes solo outdoor riding for recreation or training. We ask that all members respect these directions and ride only on the trainer (or in your own backyard) for the time being from midnight tonight. Again, a reminder that this hard 6-day lockdown could save us not only weeks or months of a Victoria-style lockdown, but also hundreds of lives if we can prevent the widespread case numbers that we’ve seen interstate and overseas. For further information regarding the restrictions, directions and advice, see the SA Health Facebook page and website here: https://www.sahealth.sa.gov.au//infectio/covid-19/covid-19 This update is shareable by this post and by the link below, including a PDF update to ACSA COVID-19 Status. https://www.auscycling.org.au//sa-covid-19-advice-update-n
