22.01.2022 NEXT WEEK Children’s Book Week 2020 DRESS UP DAY AND ONLINE BOOK FAIR Book week has arrived! ... From Monday 19th Friday 23rd October students are encouraged to bring in their favourite books from home to read to a friend. Students will also participate in book reviews, a colouring competition and various activities to promote the book week theme, ‘Curious Creatures Wild Minds’. On Wednesday 21st, we are inviting students to come to school dressed as their favourite book character or as a curious creature with a wild mind. Please note that the dress up day has been changed due to gymnastics starting on Thursday. Families are welcome to participate in the online book fair which will run from 19th October to the 5th November. You can choose from all the books on the site with your purchases being delivered to your front door. Postage is $6.50, but orders over $40 qualify for free delivery. 22.01.2022 UNIFORM SHOP RE-OPENING In line with information received by the Department of Education, we wish to advise the re-opening of our Uniform Shop which will be operational under strict COVID safe guidelines. The shop will be open TUESDAY AND THURSDAY mornings from 8.30am to 9.00am.... Payments can be made in CASH or ON-LINE PAYMENT only as we DO NOT HAVE EFTPOS facilities at the school. For on-line payments, please make note of the receipt number on your order form to enable the order to be processed. Order forms/price lists can be obtained from the school website, school office and the uniform shop. Strictly one parent and/or student in the shop at a time. Seating will be provided outside the shop for those waiting to enter Any orders place at the front office will be collated during second break and delivered to the student in their classroom. Receipts for uniforms will be issued and change provided if necessary. We ask that all labels (still attached) and packaging be kept should you wish to exchange sizes. If your child is reluctant... to have both a nose and a throat swab, you can ask the health care worker collecting the swab to complete either a nose or throat swab. If you have any questions or concerns about your child getting tested, you can speak to your GP. COVID-19 symptoms can include fever, cough, sore/scratchy throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell or loss of taste, as well as other reported symptoms including fatigue, runny nose, muscle pain, joint pain, headache, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting and loss of appetite. 12.01.2022 **School attendance** Students should be at school unless: - they have a medical certificate which states that they are unable to return to school due to an ongoing medical condition and the expected timeframe - they are currently unwell.... In accordance with advice from NSW Health, parents and carers are reminded NOT to send children to school if they are unwell, even if they have the mildest flu-like symptoms. Schools will make arrangements for students who present as unwell or have flu-like symptoms to be sent home. NSW Health have requested that schools encourage anyone who is unwell or has even mild flu-like symptoms, to arrange to be tested through their local medical practitioner or one of the COVID-19 clinics. Students and staff with flu-like symptoms will need to provide a copy of a negative COVID-19 test result before being permitted to return to school. Schools are not required to conduct widespread temperature screening or mandate the wearing of a mask. All schools will be vigilant when implementing infection control, physical distancing and personal hygiene protocols to protect the health and safety of students and staff. The survey asks parents and carers questions about different factors that are known to impact on student wellbeing and engagement. Running this survey will help our school understand parents’ and carers’ perspectives on their child’s experience at school.
