19.01.2022 Last week we noticed our friends at Saltwater Medical posted their team having Hawaiian Thursdays! This was their way of bringing a little brightness to the ...office in light of the COVID-19 crisis. Well at MPP we just LOVED this idea! Not only did we love the concept of bringing some brightness to the office during such challenging times, we also felt there is something to take from the KaHuna’s (healers) of Hawaii - 7 principles for living a fulfilling life...what do you think? IKE The world is what you think it is KALA There are no limits, everything is possible MAKIA Energy flows where attention goes MANAWA Now is the moment of power ALOHA To love is to be happy MANA Power comes from within PONO Effectiveness is the measure of truth Finally, many of our beautiful MPP team stepped out of their comfort zones to throw on these brightly coloured tees. However, more often than not, our clients are stepping outside of their comfort zone when they walk through our doors. In a very small way... this is us fronting up to some of our own anxieties and vulnerabilities. It's our way of saying "We see you" and "We're here for you". Please feel free to JOIN IN with us for our Hawaiian Thursdays! As the Hawaiian's say 'aloha nui' (aka 'much love') to you all.

16.01.2022 How have you been going with putting devices away before bedtime? Devices have no place in your bedroom. If you are sitting on them in the lead up to bedtime, they will likely have a detrimental impact on your sleepsorry For more information, check out this video where I discuss the rationale behind putting devices away before bedtime. https://bit.ly/2RAONI0

09.01.2022 I don’t know about you, but I have found myself saying sorry quite a bit more over the last few weeks. Mostly to my husband and children. Sorry for not being ...able to come do that activity with you all Sorry for being grumpy, short-fused, stressed Sorry for working crazy hours Growing up I found it challenging to say the word ‘sorry’. However, I have no issue with it now. I believe this has come from accepting that I’m not perfect, that I will make mistakes, and that I’m not ALWAYS right . A genuine heart-felt apology (with no clauses) can be so powerful and validating for the person who has been hurtand it is an amazing start to repairing the ‘damage’ that may have been caused. How do you feel about apologising? If you’re interested in this topic check out this podcast by Brene Brown and Dr Harriet Lerner: ‘When you listen, you can expect authentic, hard conversations (and one helluva role play) about making mistakes, healing hurts, and being brave’. 08.01.2022 One of the things I have noticed a need for during the COVID-19 crisis more than ever is self-compassion. With massive disruptions in routine and extra stress, ...I am finding it all too easy to start criticising or putting unreasonable pressure on myself. I’ve found that I have had to be extra conscious of pausing, and listening to my internal dialogue. I then ask myself if this is reasonable and would I be saying these things to a loved one. Would I be telling them they ‘should be exercising’ or they ‘have to cook homemade dinners every night for the kids’? The answer is ‘no’ I wouldn’t. I would remind them that this is a unique period and hence things will be different for a while.

04.01.2022 Simple right?...the time for being kind to yourself is always. However, if you're like most people, this seemingly simple thing can be very easy to lose sight o...f. I'm right there with you! One of the things that this COVID-19 crisis has driven home to me is the importance of self-compassion on a daily basis. I thought I was kind to myself...but then I noticed the areas I struggled with the most when COVID-19 hit. This made me realise that I gave myself some pretty frequent whippings. Throughout the immense challenge of COVID-19, I have been reminded of the importance of slowing down and connecting with that which is most important to me in life. My goal now is to carry these lessons with me into life post COVID-19. Take a moment to reflect...is there anything this challenging time has taught you? What's your inner voice been saying to you during this period?
