25.01.2022 Back in the media coaching saddle today. I started out in radio, moved into Ministerial media management and media liaison for issues and events like the declaration of Marine National Parks and Melbourne Commonwealth Games, supporting clients through media statements and training surrounding large scale changes, new research, data and discoveries, and crisis and tragedies. Being prepared and confident in interacting with media helps you build relationships with journalists a...nd get your point across with clarity. I’m always proud of sharing what I know with customised media training workshops and coaching sessions. (I don’t really miss the old 6am radio and TV producer calls though!)

24.01.2022 One for my branding and packaging pals. Dying. With. Laughter.

24.01.2022 So great to see the beautiful Great Ocean Quarterly return to presses and our reading shelves. This is a beautiful collection of essays, stories and poems under the expert help of editor (and accomplished novelist) Jock Serong and Founder and Creative Director Mick Sowry. I was so thrilled to see it back in circulation and funded by a ripper Pozible campaign.

22.01.2022 The character of a country matters. This is a vindication for so many people who have suffered. American Van Jones reacts with such sincerity after American elections results.

21.01.2022 A snapshot of media and features copywriting and PR campaign successes I've achieved

21.01.2022 I've had some of the best conversations during these lockdown times, a stand-out chat was with Wendy Orr Author. She's navigated self-isolation times with some of her extended family moving into her home, huddling grandmothering with editing her latest book. Wendy's journey to the Mornington Peninsula is quite the story, and her books connects with readers across the world. Check out Peninsula Essence for the whole interview.

20.01.2022 Keeping it real! COVID shall not derail my creative writing chaos! Friday’s are supposed to be my book writing days, but remote schooling makes a mockery of that. I’m on deadline and strapped in for a final manuscript push for the next three days so desperate times call for desperate signs. My Writers Victoria Live Write up next to keep me accountable too.

19.01.2022 I've had a terrific year writing and submitting creative and freelance pieces, beyond the copywriting desk. Chuffed to share that I have had a piece accepted into the inaugural PENinsula Literary Journal. PENinsula is an annual literary journal celebrating writers from the Mornington Peninsula. Everything they publish has a strong sense of place through nature writing, personal essays and short fiction published annually alongside local landscape photography.... Issue 1 will be available in November 2020. Eager beavers can pre-order a copy through the online shop

19.01.2022 I was researching information today on TROVE for seaside storytelling memories and found this little ripper: "Who would go back to 1901 indeed! I would, it sounded like quite the jape!" Your homework is to look up the word jape. ... Hint: They often japed on Wind in the Willows! Just a little step back in time Friday research to keep us all tickety-boo! See more

19.01.2022 Shall we go to our readers when they need us, and read to them from park benches and hospital beds in a COVID safe way? Maria Tumarkin’s STATE OF THE WRITING NATION - came all the way safely to my writing / working mum kitchen. Thanks Writers Victoria The Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas for such a powerful address to Australian writers.... After Maria Tumarkin’s explosive ask What to do with the contempt for writers in this country?, she addressed the writers’ landscape, displacement, sentences that are serviceable, writing for income or long ambition of works, of writing about uncertainty when uncertainty in ongoing, rethinking our notions of authorship & more with intense clarity. My writing mind is reeling from this brilliant oration. You can catch the full address here https://youtu.be/wRaVoSznQwQ

18.01.2022 VICTORIA LOCKDOWN Goodbye outdoor masks. I can’t wait to see everybody’s walking smiles. (But waggling eyebrows still indoors!) ... It makes all the difference doesn’t it? Let’s hope it’s here to stay.

18.01.2022 Teachers. You rock (and pivot, adapt and persevere)

17.01.2022 The story of my winter lockdown. How writing helped me focus and produce during isolation times. Special thanks to Writers Victoria and Peninsula Writers' Club online company.

17.01.2022 Today Show success for my media client Dance Arts Alliance - please show them your support

16.01.2022 We Victorians in Melb / Mitchell Shire and Mornington Peninsula Shire lockdown are missing so much right now. I find I am setting my desktop screens on more and more to live cams and virtual tours to see the world beyond my 5kms. I absolutely adore this FarmCam update from Royal Melbourne Show. My long time colleague Jacqui de Kievit and her team have been hard at work making agricultural magic happen. As I tuned in, the afternoon bird song was prolific, farm dogs were barking, goats and calves noisily feeding and the farm life was filling me up. Thanks, Royal Melb Show for this country magic. I loved it.

14.01.2022 When words come to your door, you can’t help but grin! Thanks Mornington Peninsula Library Service (Our Library) for making my day with new YA reads for myself and my tween reader! I’ve missed the company of my fav librarians! This new contactless delivery service was a sight for lockdown reading eyes!

13.01.2022 Good Onya Gippsland! This makes me smile. We have two in our near streets. but these are the cutest!

13.01.2022 Take a moment to read this message from my client Dance Alliance in today’s Age newspaper. The industry, which has been one of the first to adjust to all Vic restrictions, puts forward that if school returns next term, so should dance studios. They at least need clarity and recognition instead of policy on the run. The mental health and well-being of dance and performance kids is just as important as that of their peers in footy!

13.01.2022 I'm keeping virtual company with some creative freelance folks in the Freelance Jungle. Here's a summary of what we've all be up to in our non-working hours. My CoronaTude Capsule gets a shout out in the Makers Gonna Make and our Lockdown Love Letters in the Client Care for Peninsula Writers' Club also gets an ahoy there.

12.01.2022 How creatively crazy is COVID? loved seeing my brother play live today. Virtually. Ewan and his band The Humbuckin' Pickups played online for the Bendigo and Roots Across the Wires Festival. They are at the 6 hr 28 min mark. Tune into the song Long Time Gone, it’s a fav song of mine!

11.01.2022 A while back an interstate friend asked me how I was passing my time in lockdown while some of my copywriting gigs were on the quiet side. He had visions of me sitting there staring at the wall. But I wasn't, I was busy but balanced. Here's what I got up to in Victoria's Stage 4 Melb Metro lockdown https://andrearowe.com.au/my-pandemic-playbook/

11.01.2022 What a fascinating story. For all my nfpo clients on health care and support, this is one worth sharing in your own content

11.01.2022 Now that PENinsula Journal has revealed their cover, I’ll share a little secret that a little piece of mine be featured in their debut edition. Loved being a part of this new literary journal launch.

10.01.2022 It was International Day of Sign Language this week; reaffirming people with hearing challenges Human rights. Never have we been more aware of Auslan sign language and it’s role in ensuring all people receive accurate than in recent times. Auslan sign language has featured in every significant press conference for Australians in 2020. I downloaded this Auslan alphabet chart a while back to learn a few letters. Now I have even more admiration for Auslan interpreters keeping ...up with fast paced news. http://www.auslan.org.au/

09.01.2022 Yesterday I popped into The Regional Australia Institute in partnership with Bendigo and Adelaide Bank and their charitable arm, the Community Enterprise Foundation webinar ROAD TRIP REVIVAL: CAN DOMESTIC TOURISM FILL THE GAP? It goes without saying that the tourism industry has been hit hard by the COVID-19 restrictions, particularly with the closures of state borders. But there are also pockets of innovation around the country that is helping some towns through these tough ...times. The panel was made up of Dr Kim Houghton, Chief Economist, Regional Australia Institute; Coralie Bell, Chair, Australian Regional Tourism; Lisa Whitelaw, Senior Regional Manager, Business Development, ExpediaGroup and Catrin Allsop CEO, Australia’s South West Regional Tourism Organisation They discussed the state of play for regional tourism sector and its economic role, as well as how the role of domestic tourism has changed over the course of the pandemic, drought, flood and fires. This was a valuable conversation covering how local tourism operators attract visitors from their own backyard, and if this is enough to fill the void left by national and international visitors. I've shared the recording as it's a worthy digital deep dive. for my tourism sector clients in planning forward.

09.01.2022 more media support for our dance industry

08.01.2022 Hurrah it’s #loveyourbookshopday Lockdown living has been made all the more meaningful with books to keep us company in these times. Click and collect and contactless deliveries were the stuff of strange dreams last year, a world we never knew! But that’s what bookshops do, they reveal new places beyond our realm, their shelves fuelling curiosity and bringing comfort. Raising my bookmarks and my reading glasses to our local bookstores Antipodes Bookshop & Gallery Rosebud Book Barn who have filled my bookshelves up in thesevtimes. And Farrells Bookshop and Petersen's Bookstore - Hastings Victoria who have kept my bookworm mates going too.

08.01.2022 A wonderful online AGM for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia Victorian Chapter today. I congratulate the entire team for such a super digital vision in bringing this to our screens. Congratulations also on the news that the RFDS has been announced as the most respected charity for Australia in 2020 once again. I was honoured to work behind the scenes with community and staff on researching and writing some worthy and emotional stories on palliative care Memory Lane support and the Wellbeing Services in regional Victoria.

08.01.2022 This is so great! Nothing compares to you bookshops!

08.01.2022 Thanks to Mornington Peninsula Library Service (Our Library) for sharing your feedback about my recent workshop. I loved how what I shared opened up other's to new ideas and tools to use for their own writing. I also really appreciate the time clients take to provide me with feedback and reviews. I know it's another task on your to-do list, but as a small business owner, it helps me immensely.

07.01.2022 Looking for a stellar branding agency? I've lost count of how many website projects I've written that Grendesign has branded and designed. Naturally, they were my perfect choice for my own re-branding last year. Their briefing process helped me consolidate how my visual elements and website navigation would speak to my client base and community. I had author, copywriter, and strategist elements so that's no mean feat. I loved how Grendesign can help with clarity. Logo, website, business card, newsletter, and social media design delivered to me with easy to understand instructions and files. The process and the result were worth it and matched my budget. Grendesign gets 1 billion polished stars from me.!

06.01.2022 I've been fascinated with how others have navigated 2020’s impacts and changes, and their attitude and ideas that have sustained their business and wellbeing. If we’ve gained anything from these times, it’s that a generous spirit and determined attitude in COVD times can have lasting positive impacts. I've been sharing out the messages of fellow Victorian’s worth meeting and supporting! Meet Kristie Evans of Connecting Good People.

05.01.2022 Got creative kids in iso-school holidays? Oceanic colourings should float their boat.

05.01.2022 My next Connecting Up Inc. workshop on Storytelling Tactics for not for profits could give you the re-boot your newsletter is after., Looking forward to sharing what I know in this 1 hr online workshop on Dec 8.

04.01.2022 I don’t mind a bit of daggy disco dancing from my favourite ABC Radio Melbourne presenters

04.01.2022 Today I’ve been been snorkelling and twirling with seals, and swimming through underwater forests with sea dragons. Not your average day at the office. But one I’d sign up for again, again and once again. On media assignment writing a profile magazine piece. Can’t wait to share the story behind Polperro Dolphin Swims. ... Thanks to the wonderful crew for hosting us. See more

03.01.2022 Soak in a little happiness to lure yourself out of the lockdown blues. I interviewed talented singer-songwriter MATILDA PEARL recently for Peninsula Essence and the lastest magazine has just dropped. This girl is all talent, and she's also navigating YR 12 exams here in Victoria so I send her all my good luck vibes.

02.01.2022 Sending my thoughts to all colleagues, clients, and contacts in South Australia as the state issues a 6-day lockdown. I know some folks are navigating masks for the first time. I wrote a blog back in August on tips for masked living. Hope this helps.

01.01.2022 Wonderful start to my day with Uncle Lionel from Living Culture Ltd. The daybreak threw in a pretty impressive sunrise too

01.01.2022 Another happy piece of writing news today. I am thrilled to have a piece accepted in the Kyabram Town Hall Writers’ Group International Women’s Day 2021 anthology, Celebrating Women. It's a special piece I wrote a few years ago in tribute to the ghosts of women who volunteer. I'm really happy it's found a home in such a fitting anthology.
