14.01.2022 A message from my wife and her colleagues during these tough times: Here I speak with all of my colleagues on the Neurosurgical Unit at RHH. The unprecedented thanks that frontline heath care staff are receiving is humbling and appreciated. We are all very conscious that although we are working during a time of crisis throughout the World, we have our jobs and our colleagues to support us, so that we can support our patients and their families. There are many in our communit...ies who do not have that support, and are struggling both financially and emotionally. So, here on our Unit, we would like to say that thank you is enough for us. Although donations and gestures to show thanks are so very kind, we would like to encourage local businesses and members of the community to direct their donations and thoughts to those in need - may that be a regular customer who they can see is struggling, a neighbour or someone they have been told about. Imagine the feeling of receiving a discount voucher or a meal delivered to your door for your family, when you werent sure you could afford something decent that night. Imagine waking after a night sleeping rough and being given a hot coffee, no questions asked. The staff from our Unit have decided to pay it forward. We will be contributing to various organisations and businesses that are in a position to help us do this. Please everyone, look after our vulnerable friends outside of the Hospital. They need everyones help more than ever
