25.01.2022 Work is progressing on the office/kitchen/gallery above the LdS glass workshop.

25.01.2022 Scaling up problems in going from 400mm (3.1kg) to 450mm (5.5kg). Relatively small increase in size but costly in time, material and energy. Luckily, no damage to the kiln. 50/50 success rate on this firing and some hard lessons learned. Next two molds will be out of the kiln tomorrow...so far so good.

24.01.2022 Installing reticulation (electricity, water and air) in new workshop. Move from Brookvale to Federal remains on track for 30 May.

20.01.2022 I would like to acknowledge Ms Maho Isohata, who has assisted me in my studio over the past 5 years.

19.01.2022 Counting down...it wont be long before were back in action.

19.01.2022 I recently remade an earlier work. I think the new version is a lot better...no beating around the bush with this one!

19.01.2022 After a 6 month casting hiatus due to the big move to Federal, were back in business. Ive been experimenting with new mold mixes. There have been a few failures, but its been mostly successful. Were now ready to go into full production.

19.01.2022 After all these years...I finally got my ducts in a row.

18.01.2022 Friends, Recent photos of another of one of my bullet groups. E Pluribus Unum... This is part of a much larger series called Sweet Fruit from the Garden of Fear. The thesis is that systemic anger is a product of deep rooted fear and that left unaddressed, this anger ultimately becomes a major, and cherished, component of the psyche. The kiln cast objects are scaled-up models of 50 calibre bullets; beautiful and graceful, but lethal in intent. Their polished tips give them the look of precious totems brought to a high shine by the touch of hungry hands seeking comfort and assurance. Out of many, one. This particular work is about the ingress of old, familiar tropes of anger, hate and alienation into the political landscape; of scarifying lessons forgotten or perhaps, never learned. The familiar colours of enlightened, progressive democracy; red, white and blue, have been infiltrated by red, white and black...the colours of fascism, racism, fear and hate.

15.01.2022 Out of kiln after 7 days cooking. Very happy with results. Good, solid molds, very little internal cracking and no suckering. A good way to start the New Year!

15.01.2022 The move to new workshop is set for end of May. Weve stopped casting, but still making fused work in Brookvale. 4 of the latest.

15.01.2022 I am most pleased to have had my recent work, I Moved On Her Like A Bitch, selected as a Finalist in the 2018 Emerge Prize. http://www.bullseyeglass.com/art/emerge2018.html

14.01.2022 Friends, Ive called this exceptional piece FORTY-FIVE. Its a hollowed out, fucked up, orange mess with an ugly base thats surprisingly delicate and is probably not going to last very long.

13.01.2022 Its been a big and busy day moving into the new glass workshop at LdS.

13.01.2022 Morning sun at LdS. Some of my recent work in the foreground. A favorite piece by Richard Whiteley at the end.

12.01.2022 Recent GasNews review of StreetKraft exhibition at Habatat Gallery.

12.01.2022 After a 6 month casting hiatus due to the big move to Federal, we’re back in business. I’ve been experimenting with new mold mixes. There have been a few failures, but it’s been mostly successful. We’re now ready to go into full production.

11.01.2022 Friends, Another new work of mine recently shot by Orchard Studios. I Moved On Her Like A Bitch... This work is part of a much larger series called Sweet Fruit from the Garden of Fear. The thesis is that systemic anger is a product of deep rooted fear and that left unaddressed ultimately becomes a major, and cherished, component of the psyche. The kiln cast objects are scaled-up models of 50 calibre bullets; beautiful and graceful, but lethal in intent. Their polished tips give them the look of precious totems brought to a high shine by the touch of hungry hands seeking comfort and assurance. This particular work is about misogyny, a subset of the larger theme of anger. The colours of the bullets refer to a mix of gender and violence. The title of the work is, of course, an actual quote. Its a peculiar turn of phrase that seethes with hostility and contempt. Its not locker room banter.

11.01.2022 Latest castings just out of the kiln. New refractory mold recipe is working a treat...minimal internal cracking and no suckers.

09.01.2022 Power Lunch (Iron, Blood and Ash) Eisen, Blut und Asche Just ate but hungry again Unsatiated... The chinas different but the menus the same. In the colours of fascism, racism and exclusion, a new (but traditional) pattern...the Swastika (deconstructed) in vitro.

08.01.2022 Friends, Im pleased to have received an Honorable Mention in Emerge 2018. Pretty stiff competition! My congratulations to my co-finalists and to everyone who won an award.

07.01.2022 So folks...after nearly 9 years making work in Brookvale...thats a wrap. Ive had a poignant moment or two in leaving, but Im looking forward to setting up shop in my new space at LdS.

07.01.2022 I've just updated my website with images of recent work...A dozen new Urban Hieroglyphs and Bad Dog. www.andyplummer.com.au Plans for the new studio at LdS (Federal NSW) are well advanced with earthworks expected to begin within the next couple of weeks. Studio move planned about this time next year.... In the meantime, I'm working hard on some new projects...Sweet Fruit from the Garden of Fear and Power Lunch. Sneak preview below.

03.01.2022 Friends, Ive spent a couple of days recently with Cassie at the Orchard Studio shooting some of my recent work. Ill post some of these images over the next few days onto my FB page (as well as that of me mate, Dr No) and also get my very capable daughter, Elizabeth MacDougall, to help me with website updates. ... Mean Girls As a rule, I dont reach for prettywith my work. However, when I put this array together, I thought, Hey, thats kinda pretty! Yeah, but how about mixing pretty with equal measures of fear and anger? Now were talking! - 5 Bullseye glass bullets, kiln-cast and cold worked. Each bullet is 400mm high x 75mm diameter & 3.1kg. AHP

03.01.2022 Im pleased to have been invited to participate in a show at Habatat Detroit from August 17 to Sept 15. Some of my Urban Hieroglyph tiles will be there. Approx 100kg of glass. Time to start packing!
